that is what I figured too, given the multiclass of Wizard and Cleric. The hardest part of MTs was survival early on, this guy should be a beast with every spell in the game and lots of them!

Indeed... Trying to figure out better power over undead... Guess that's the trade-off. This is not the 4th character. It is a contingency...

I oughta make a cleric and we can pick between potential 4th character options.

If you don't mind, that would be great to see the tradeoff on paper. I was thinking this was the 4th as well, just because of the versatility of the MT. Make sure to check out wizard Necro spells as part of the balance vs a cleric's channeling.

I know Cleric's channeling is really strong, but so is the crowd control of a wizard, which is good against all opponents. The MT keeps all the cleansing (curses, debuffs, etc) and healing of the cleric and all the CC of a wizard. I wouldn't even worry much about direct damage, maybe just a few elemental spells in case we can get opposite types for double damage. CC to stun\daze\etc some enemies to limit the numbers we have to fight at any 1 time and buffs for the big 3 melee (haste, blink, imp inviso, displacement) would be huge.

If we use the MT as "4th dude" I will adjust him to be friendlier than leirthall (who is LN just shy of NE, commands undead, and is an arrogant prick).

Otherwise I can make a straight cleric.

... consider looking at Aasimar as a race for any Cleric or Pally... +2 to Wis. and Cha. They can pop angel wings as a feat too..
