The Wizard Nokore, once charged with keeping safe the forbidden scrolls of Teun, had fallen prey to the temptation of power and glory. He looked unready at the message written there, and fell prey to the dark whispers held within its words. Mad with the taint of it's evil, he marshalled an army and made war against the Just Kingdom of Saigo.
Taen Don, the King Priest of the Saigo, was a humble and honorable man who feared for the safety of his people. He called for the Heroes of Golla Tower, and they had come, and pledged to stem Nokore's advance, they had set forth.
Many leagues did they travel, Nokore's minions hounding their every step. Undeterred, and guided by the Seer of Aon, they searched to find an artifact of ancient origin that may hold the power to defeat Nokore.
Deep into hidden caverns beneath the ruins of the Poen Sa Monastery, they delved, and fought, and conquered the guardian beasts within. Triumphant!
The sphere safely in hand, they made haste to break the siege and defeat Nokore for good.
A single day from their goal, exhausted from their desperate cross country flight to deliver the good people of Saigo, they prepare to make camp for a few hours. In order to prepare for the battle against Nokore, they seek respite by the roadside. A small fire and the last of their rations for comfort.
What is that sound? A high pitched keening, a ripping, a tearing, a grinding, a roar. A THUNDERCLAP!
A bright flash of sickly light. A wind is suddenly blowing, towards the sound, towards the twirling lights, towards...a portal?
Faster than sight, 2 creatures appear as if launched from the spinning chaos. The wind stops, dead calm. A stench of sulfur, rot, and blood.
Maniacal smiles twist the faces of their ram horned, ape like heads. Covered in filthy brown fur matted with a foul ichor, standing on cloven hooves, they crouch with a predatory anticipation...
"THE SEED!" cries one, in a hoarse growl. "MINE!" hisses the other.
Roll for initiative.
