    I totally did too the when I read your update.  lol! 

    Actually, since Neraka is no longer dazed he can (hopefully) finish the mage (not counting DR, mage has lost over 200 vitality), Virgil will take a swift action and shout down to Stone, "Jack, get up on the roof!"

    Alan - you must specify a trigger for a readied action. If that trigger doesn't occur, you lose the action.

    I think you want is a "held" action, meaning you move down in initiative order, but can do whatever you want at a later time.

    GM - at the risk of not waiting another 24hrs.... can we just consider that a "held action" and move on?

    The dire werewolf disembowels the evil mage. He's dead and in shreds dripping red.


    But then it reverts to it's natural form. Black and slimey, it's similar to:

    The death of the mage has ended his enchantments. The ravens flee away from Neraka. He gets an AoO.


    The flies swarm instantly transforms back to a Huge-sized cyclops.

    They can't technically leave until their turn. I'm giving Josh the AoO early, to speed things along... The birds won't pester anyone else now that the mage is dead.


    BTW, the wound damage that the birds inflicted on Neraka was because of their aura. Blood ravens are magical beasts. Normal birds would be more easily deflected by armor.

    Dead evil mage transformed back to his hideous nature. A few articles of clothing and possessions remain unchanged, however.

    perception roll: 1d20+11 (12+11)=23

    Traveler reaches out and checks for a pulse on the foul creature's neck.

    "Sherriff Virgil, this beast may not be dead. Perhaps you have some restraints? You may have a new prisoner to question"

    Monk stays right beside the cyclops, ready for anything.

    No one is interested in continuing the festivities. Folk who are uninjured, and can stomach it, stick around to help the wounded and remove the dead carcasses.

    Neraka collects some of the vile black goop that was the evil wizard.

    The cyclops is indeed unconscious. Close to death, but snoring loudly. Some of the towns folk are ready to do a coup de grace on him. After an hour passes, the power of the potions have worn off and he's back to a stocky medium size.

    His great club is a Crusher Club; 1d10 damage and also: expend 2 vit as you hit, your foe must resist using Fort or suffer 1d6 wound damage, as bones are broken.

    It takes a couple hours to use identify on the evil wizard's items. The arcana and technics checks assist the study.

    The items the evil wizard had can be identified thus:
    ~Boots of Flying; Costs 1 vit for 1 minute of flying.
    ~Cloak of the Raven Queen; while wearing the cloak, you recite "Ode to the Raven Queen" in elven as a standard action and transform into a Tiny bird with a fly speed of 60 ft for the remainder of your turn. You land and return to your normal form at the end of your turn. You cannot make attacks in this form. Costs 2 vit.
    ~An electro-tech remote control device of some kind.
    ~An electro-tech comm-link of some kind.

    I will need further Technics checks to operate each of the electrotech devices.

    I have limited flight with my cape, so if someone else needs flight capability they should take them. Or I could take the boots and give someone else my cape (mantle), whatever.

    The boots could be good for Oli too, they would make it easier to stay out of melee range  Cool 

    But I agree that the cloak isn't very practical, I was just picturing Ned Flanders with a feathered boah

    Once we get the wounded taken care of and everyone cleared out, Virgil sends Orbyn, Jack, Chef and Bill home for the night, "Thanks gents, you handled yourselves real well today."  Virgil tips his hat to the deputies.

    Once they have left, Virgil removes his hat and lowers his Red wolf-mask to reveal his long blond hair, tattoos and a braided goatee.

    Virgil waves his hands frantically to get Oli to stop messing with the Remote Control for the worm. Virgil puts 1 finger up to his lips to indicate silence to the group and motions for Oli to hand him the portable-telegraph-talkie device.

    Okay. I scrolled up, but couldn't find the roll you're describing. Can you quote it? Or just re-roll?

    Student of the Weave looks like a cool ability. Costs 1 Vit with 78% success chance to use a basic magic ability that you don't already know.

    Identify Creature costs 1 vit and is Line of Sight. Oli would have to climb on the roof of the armory.
    I'll need a climb (athletics) check too.

    I think you guys already know the "face stealers" are aberrations. But there's more you can know with a good Identify Creature roll.

    The DCs for the Technics checks concerning the electro-tech devices are higher than usual. Oli knows typical electotech stuff, but these devices seems to be futuristic or "alien" hardware.

    Does Neraka have dark vision? Thinking of the burrowing wurm's tunnel.. better than tracks..
