he hands a wand to whomever... it's a Darkvision wand, 20 charges

don't forget the 2000 pounds that you were given (and did not have to use)

soldier at 7th, that seems reasonable for Uncanny Dodge

Dan - wait until I get a chance to do a re-cap on SW, otherwise there is too much to read, that story went on for like 9 months. Do you want the Shadowrun 4e main book? you could start to familiarize yourself with those rules, since it seems like there is interest in going that route (Josh, Rob, Alan)

new book - good observation, Dan, that does seem pretty OP

LOOT - by Dan's count, he should get the belt, or he could use some of the $2000 and maybe give CR3 the belt? that way, it seems like we all get something useful

I thought we had a plan.... ok, then somebody needs to do the math. all the loot gets a price tag, for full value and it gets divided evenly, along with the gold. I think that is a bit silly, but if that's what Rob really wants, go for it.

None of us are going to be able to buy 1/2 priced magic items that will help the party, which is why I think it is silly. We have the opportunity to help the party be stronger, it just takes a little sharing and not being greedy over imaginary gold.

just for example, that Dex +2 belt is worth 4000

the gun is prob 4000 too.... or more

let's put this to a party vote.

1) Need > Greed (whoever can best use an item gets it, regardless of exact gold value)

2) divide everything received evenly, with gp value for all treasure counted and tallied in the loot thread.

anyone who wants something (be it items that they are trying to purchase or spells that they would like to add) needs to make percentile rolls.

Dan, I'll respond later today for your rolls. I will assume that the Colonel is just going to go along with things as Matt is off fishing or whatever for a bit.

Just to add my $0.02.... it makes more sense to equip the party now and deal with secondary concerns later...

nothing was said in character, this is a vote for the players, not the characters. Are you just being funny or what?

2000 gold = 500 gold each

belt +2 dex = 4000
gun + fire = 4000
scrolls = 200??
wand = 4500

so the players that take the belt and the gun, let's say CJC and Elliot for argument's sake, each just got 4000 in value compared to the 500 for everyone else. so by your logic Elliot and CJC would OWE Olivia, CR3 and JT to compensate for those items. now add in the wand (and scrolls) for Olivia 4500 - 500 = 4000 that Olivia OWES to the rest of the party in exchange for her "fair share" as you put it.

If Olivia takes the wand and scrolls (4500+), Elliot takes the belt (4000), CJC takes the gun (4000) then CR3 and JT should not only get 1000 each from the gold, but are still OWED 4500\2 or 2250 each in future loot.

Or Olivia can take the belt, CJC the gun, we can sell the wand for 1/2 2000 + 2000 = 4000\3 for JT, Elliot and CR3. Olivia and CJC would still OWE JT, Elliot and CR3 2700 each in future loot.

I think this is dumb and a waste of our time drunken

You assume too much. All I said was to split up the gold. I don't care about diving up items equally.

And as I've already said, anyone else can have the wand, or the scrolls for that matter. They're redundant to my character's abilities.

That being said, Olivia is happy to take them on, and continues her responsibility as party healer.

She'll take 500 gold for now. If there's an item or service that will benefit the party that she can contribute towards (such as the 50 gold she gave Rashid for just letting them stay there) either now or in the future, Olivia can be convinced to contribute.

There is no need to act butthurt about it. Olivia's primary motive as an adventurer, doesn't have any bearing on whatever factions are trying to hoard the ancient secrets. Her choice in occupation is about gaining loot for personal reasons (helping the hungry and poverty-stricken children of her homeland being a part of that). You can of course, call it greed.

Olivia can take a run at finding a new spell in the chaos that is Rashid's House of Rare Antiquities

I'll allow two rolls for this, you need above a 75%.

One thing that I should have emphasized earlier and somehow forgot.... don't forget that telephones exist and are quite common in use. The Englishman told you that he would be in contact with you in a few days. (sorry, that's a retcon but it's one that I meant to include)

Which is perfectly sensible. If that's how everyone wants to do it, it's cool with me. I was only being nitpicky about the actual gold, not the items as well. Which was in response to:

Rob, you seem to miss the obvious, so for the 3rd time, let me repeat it for you..... we have received both gold and items (which have a gold value). they are not separate, but some people (Olivia, CJC) had claimed items (gold) and there was gold remaining to buy additional items for others (CR3, JT).

Do you want the dex +2 belt and the wand and the scrolls?

fine, that is 4000 + 4500 + whatever the scrolls are worth. you do NOT get another 500 out of the 2000, you already have claimed almost 9000 worth of the loot. Our total loot to date is the belt (4000), the gun (4000), the wand (4500), the scrolls (?) and 2000. So Olivia has claimed almost 9000\13,000. Now you are trying to claim your "fair share" of another 500. yes, I call that GREED. stop being so freaking greedy over imaginary items!

Or give the belt to Elliot, which would actually be more fair and JT and CR3 can split the 2000 and would still be owed another 2000 worth of future loot, by your accounting requirements.

everything any player gets, that they can use, benefits the whole party.

CJC getting a gun with + fire damage = benefits us all
dex +2 belt for Olivia or Elliot = less damage taken, benefits us all
goggles for + perception = see more traps, take less damage, benefit us all
amulet for CR3 = more damage done, benefits us all

It sounds like to me, Olivia doesn't really want the scrolls and wand, so doesn't want to miss out on what she does want (gold) because she's forced to take them..

Rob, is that an accurate appraisal?

If that's the case, let's not force her. We can hang onto them, and Elliot (or someone else) can put a couple skill ranks into UMD, OR we can leave them in the loot thread and sell them later.

I think we all agree CJC should get the flaming Enfield. Elliot already has a shocking rifle.

CRIII doesn't need/want the belt because he has one.

JT doesn't seem interested in it really, although for a rogue/ranger it probably has some use. I think he'd rather get some new adventuring gear while it's available on the cheap.

Elliot wants it, since it would make his attacks that much more deadly, but as a character he isn't very assertive, so he's happy to take whatever share the party decides on. If Olivia wants the belt AND her share of gold, it's cool with me/Elliot. He'd LIKE to buy the Engineer's work gloves (+5 to disable, repair, craft, etc.. all things he's good at anyway) but it's not like it's a NEED. It's a moot point anyway, since even at 1/3 price they're 1000 bucks, so he can't afford them.

Oh, and incedentally, not to further obfuscate the issue, but a 5 way split on Norris' cash is actually 400 each. Not that I or Elliot cares. Just saying.

Tossing his gold share to whoever needs it for Rashid's shop doesn't bother him.

I'm happy to retcon my last skill ranks so Elliot can use a wand or scrolls and take that stuff and NOT claim any gold or other loot, if that helps end this argument. OR, I'm happy to take the belt and nothing else. Or really, I'm happy with nothing at all. It's all good with Elliot.

EDIT: It's cool. Would rather not be fighting or trying to get the last word in.

~Elliot should take the Dex belt. He wants it and can use it. It is a good asset to his character. Olivia had inquired about it, but doesn't need it at this junction.

~Olivia will take the scrolls, since she asked about them.

*Josh, I will roll for spell research when I've completed Olivia's level-up bump. Probably sometime tomorrow.

~Olivia will take the Wand of Darkvision, unless anyone else wants it. Since she's getting the wand, she will fore go any cut of the gold.

Nope. I think we all agreed CJC should get the rifle, if you want a cut of the cash, it's between you, JT & CRIII to figure out a split.

The past day or two, we've been a bit tangled up with sorting loot- some of the items we've picked up (rifle, belt, wand, scrolls) have significant cash value, so we've been hammering out a fair split of cash/loot.

Olivia has agreed to take the scrolls and wand (about 9000-9500gp total value) and no cash, and Elliot is taking the Dex belt (4000gp) and no cash.

CRIII and JT aren't taking any items, so they get cash.

You get the rifle (4075gp), and whatever split of cash you, JT and CRIII work out.

As for the roll-

Josh has said you can make a wish list of 3 Magic Items, (max value 8000gp), and make a % roll for each one. If you roll above a 75%, Rashid has it for sale at half price.

That's the roll he's asking for.

Is that all clear as mud? Lol

Lol, he's happy to track the loot, so long as that doesn't come with any actual authority.

When JT goes to sleep, Elliot takes the time to jot down some shorthand notes of what the party has learned so far. (See journal thread if interested in timeline and clues) Then he'll say his prayers and go to sleep as well.

250,000 at least in gold and jewels. Probably the same in items and mundane artifacts (this is sort of a lump sum number, it is unlikely that you could actually keep all these items, but you would get some reward for them instead... that does not, however, refer to magic items)
