(all events after this are taking into account that the PCs have all the magical gear, that JT has drunk the potion saving his ass from crotch-rot, and that the PCs have grabbed as much gold as they please, should they want to.  For the sake of brevity, I have cut to the final scene of the chapter)

The party manages to reach the surface by carefully retracing their steps.  JT is able to engineer a controlled blast with help from the soldiers to open the air shaft and allow men to descend using ropes.  The men report that the sky got very dark; all of a sudden.  The rest of the day is black as pitch with only a blood moon showing.  The next morning is quiet, and the sun comes out again.  By mid-morning (before the party can leave) a column of trucks, horses and camels arrives.  An entire company of British troops led by Colonel Brereton himself has come to find the party.

Colonel Brereton has a telegram for you, begging you to come to Alexandria to Norris’s palatial home.  It does not say why.  The Colonel takes you aside and says “something very bad has happened in Germany.  A group of, well, I don’t know quite what they are… but they have tried to take over the government in Berlin, or something, it's a very confused situation.   From what little we’ve heard, it’s quite a mess.  Something similar happened in Hungary, Turkey and Italy.  None were successful that I know of but I’m not exactly the first that they inform.”  He smiles.  “Our mutual friend suggested that I find you immediately, he said that you may have found something significant?”

Upon hearing that the Tomb of Thutmoses is full of treasure (you wouldn’t have been able to take it all out from under their noses, after all) he is very keen to keep a guard on the tomb and then aid you to getting to Alexandria.

As you begin the journey back (which has to be by boat until you reach Cairo), you swear that things are different.  It’s colder, it’s cloudier, you hear very little or see very little of the wildlife that inhabits the Nile.

When you get to Cairo (your cars are still there) you are able to drive to Alexandria with little trouble… most people are inside, which certainly strikes you as odd.

You arrive in Alexandria at Norris’s house.  Four armed guards are there… all wearing British military uniforms.  They allow you to enter after deferring to their Sergeant.

Once inside, you see a visibly haggard Norris.  He is more exhausted than you have ever seen and he has a scar, almost like claw marks, on his face that look like they are in the process of healing.

He smiles when he sees all of you.   “My friends… you all look like I feel but you have done a marvelous thing and helped our cause immeasurably.  I know that Thutmoses survived, but his Queen is dead.  How you managed this I don’t know but thank you.  The King, as far as we know, has fled Egypt for now.  He probably found more of his kind or the blasted Circle found him.” (he scowls at their name)

“Unfortunately, we have other problems that are just as bad… if not somewhat worse.  I went to Damascus but I found no dragon.”  He stops for a moment, takes a drink, composes himself…

“I found, what are commonly known, as Were-wolves.  Dozens of them.  In fact, I think that the affairs in Germany might be connected to them.  They might also be connected to what’s happening in Hungary and elsewhere.  The OMP had a rare stroke of luck and stumbled upon the beginnings of a coup in against the Syrian Mandate government.  I don’t know why these creatures are suddenly going after governments… it makes no sense at all.”  He seems very perplexed and, for a man who often is looked to for answers, very worried.

“I had to do something that I’m not all that comfortable with… I received permission to contact the American group known as the Arcanum… I’ll assume you’ve heard of them.  They had actually reached out to us earlier, but there is mutual mistrust due to, um, ‘operational goals’.”

You hear two voices talking heatedly as two men enter the room.  Norris turns…”ah, speaking of Yanks.  May I introduce Johnathan Carter and Jacob McGuinness.” (Olivia and others of you may recognize the second man from the casino a few days ago… the American winning all the money)  Carter is dressed almost like a college professor, tall, spectacled, smoking a pipe with short, red hair and a medium build.  McGuinness looks like something out of a cowboy movie.  Boots, two six guns on his hips (two more M1911s under his arms), a wide brimmed hat, handle-bar mustache and a chaw of tobacco tucked in his mouth.  “Howdy” is all he says.

(photos are obviously not representative of what they ACTUALLY look like. lol)

Both of them look at all of you… and then Carter leads off.  “Pleased to meet you, we’ve actually had a couple of you on our radar at one point.  Norris here says that you killed a Vamp Queen a few days ago.  Well done!  Feel like going after bigger game…?? (he smiles as he asks)

You may ask any questions you wish at this point.  Feel free to update all your characters and add a level.  You earned it (horrid GM dice rolls are nobody's fault).  Divide the gear you acquired as you wish.

If you wish to make a new character, since I have looked through the Advanced Class Guide and have no objections to anything, you may now do so. All I ask is that you give a good ending to the one you have and give some justification why your new person is working with either the OMP or Arcanum (sort of important at this point)

JT would take the Shocking burst Heavy Mace, since he is primarily a melee guy, but someone else can have the shocking sword.

JT is exhausted and just wants to put his stubby legs up and rest. He is happy to listen to the Yanks, but does so with half closed eyes.... until he starts snoring.

Elliot is with JT regarding thehe need to rest and recuperate.

He helps himself to whatever hospitality Norris has put out, cakes, tea, whatever the Englishman's servants have around.

He's content to listen to the conversation unfold. His mind wanders to the gold and jewels he secreted away in his pack, and he wonders how rich he is..

His ears perk a bit at the talk of werewolves..

He feels out of place speaking in the company of officers and gentlemen, but is curious nonetheless..

"Right then. Finally a hunt where I wont be confined to musty underground cesspits. There are beasts afoot, and my parlour has need of new mounts!"

Well told Josh. You put together a pretty cool setting that is worth developing more, should you get the hankering again.

Thank you! I plan on running this again someday, no question. But I need a long break first. Just want to be a player for now.

    Absolutely. Go for it.

If you wish to adapt a character from what you already had, I'm open to "re-classing" but it will have to be negotiated a bit

Meh, I don't think fighter gets much at 8th lvl besides a bonus feat, so I was thinking just take a level of investigator maybe. Grant Elliot a couple basic magic powers. Maybe all his exposure to the world of the occult is rubbing off on him finally..

ok, cool. Anything that is kosher with the rules is always fine by me. Anything outside of that just needs to be discussed.
