    Lumenor walks into the mill just in time to dodge the drooping gear that is still spinning on the shaft, though slipping and grinding.  Korwin also ducks out of the way.

    Chef loses his footing on the sun gear and falls down to the top of the slanting bevel gear below.  He narrowly misses landing on Ila whose desperate grasping claws skitter like a dog chasing a cat on a wood floor.

    Tuq serenely keeps his saddle.

    I will do another map soon.

    To clarify, my read-through has left me with the understanding that we are out of combat, but the mill is disabled and crumbling, and we are trying to retrieve some children from atop the mechanisms before they are hurt or killed, correct?

    Is there anyway I could "aid" someone's climbing? Like propping up something to stabilize the climbing surface or something?

    Lumenor scrambles to help whoever seems to be having the most trouble climbing, by throwing his weight against the teetering machinery framework in an attempt to hold it in place.

    The bevel gear is readily climbable. The issues are that it is moving, and that it is difficult to transfer to the mating gear without getting crunched! Twisted Evil

    There have been some partially helpful attempts to slow the mechanism.

    I see, thanks for the clarification. In that case, is there a beam, branch, or bar anywhere inside or nearby outside that Lumenor can see or remembers seeing on the way in - that he thinks might be suitable for using to wedge into the gear and slow or stop it?

    The two blacksmiths work together to feed pieces of the busted mech to the mill and should be able to maintain its slowed motion.

    This scenario was more tedious than intended. I think it is better for table-top. I will expedite so we can get to something simpler.

    Chef gets to the top of the sun gear to find Wella crouched in the shadows on the ring gear. The goblins seem to have moved up into the processing mechanisms above.

    Free movement.

    cheers I do applaud the effort for a 3D map. I have tried making them and usually just scrapped the idea completely or modified it so heavily as to not be 3D anymore.

    Uhm, so I take it the remaining goblins are all burnt to a crisp? Check bodies for loot...

    If the scene is clear of goblinoids, Chef will return with Wella to the wagon. "When we get back to the keep, I'll fix you all some of my famous chicken soup."

    250 gold pieces
    1 silvered dagger
    1 MW short sword
    A finely crafted light mace with gold inlays.

    A weird looking bottle with liquid that seems to change colors at different angles of light.

    A broken longsword that has been crudely modified into a cleaver with a purple gemstone in place of the pommel. (It is still imbedded in the ribs of a recently slaughtered pig).

    Korwin is also going to look into fashioning a crossbow when he has time (I think you need Bowyer/Fletcher to make bows? Anyway, a normal crossbow is all he's out to make, and bolts of course)

    As you approach Starfell a few things are obvious:
    1. the fort is being upgraded
      Another wall is being built that ends at the library tower
      Efforts at rebuilding anything outside that wall have ended abruptly
      There are more people in town
      The nearby woods are clear cut
      Several crossbows are pointed at you
