    Nice build Bronson! That's a lot of skills, yo!

    It will be good to have someone knowledgeable in the party.  I admit my personal Star Wars lore knowledge is focused primarily on the films. Most of the metaplot goes over my head. I had to check and see what a Bothan is!

    This campaign is set in The Old Republic, I believe.


    Chris, is there a recap somewhere of the last adventure and various needed setting details. Linky?

    it is a long read, but the game ran for about 9 months....  it will be relevant to the current story.

    As a GM, I always try to say "yes" and allow everything, sometimes I just like to know the player's thinking behind the choices or clarify how something works.

    A couple thoughts and questions for you.....

    How do you see his Bard Spells being re-skinned in SW?   Force abilities?  Technological gadgets?  cyberware?
    for example - Cure Serious Wounds might just be a stim-pack that you inject.
    How do you see Dominate Person or Charm Monster working?
    How about Summon Monster?

    if Force powers - where did he learn them?  was he a Jedi or Sith and formally trained?  or are they just natural abilities?  something else?

    Feats -

    I know there are a LOT of SW books, but where are you finding the Elusive Dogfighter and Juke feats?

    You need the basic Feat - Starship Operation (piloting) and choose Freighters or Starfighters.  That is the core feat, like Mounted Combat, and most other advanced feats rely on that as the base.  Then there are higher feats like Starship Dodge, etc.

    check PF - you also get to buy magic items. I think it is $62,000 but double check that number

    I was thinking all his spells were actually force powers (charm person or dominate=jedi mind trick).
    He likely has a high midi-chlorian count and natural force talents, but was never formally trained by sith or jedi.
    Summon monster? I don't know how that would translate over. It was a bard spell that I thought would be useful. If you would allow it, this "monster'" could be his jawa companion. Normally he's a non-combatant, but when "summoned" he whips out his blaster and fight for a few rounds. Very Happy

    Those feats were actually Ace Pilot talents from the starwars d20 book (p. 206-207). My intent was to build them onto the Vehicluar Combat and Starship Weapons feats, but I can replace those to Starship Operation (freighter).
    The feats didn't seem OP to me, and actually fit nicely with his military service background.

    One more question: can his star freighter be a magic item? Could it be equipped with magical [scientifically advanced] abilities?

    I like the idea of using the Jawa, but the stats for Summon Monster 1 are so low that he wouldn't really be effective and would actually be attacking with something like a dagger, lol.  And he would get killed really quickly.

    I could see a jack-of-all trades having something like tiny drone droids that he deploys.  A little floating or crawling droid that goes up and shocks your enemies.  Again, check out the stats for the actual spell, they are all really weak compared to 10th lvl challenges, but they are certainly an option, if you really want to go that route.  

    Since you are a natural force user.... I could even stretch the imagination and see that as you "animating" an object in the room to attack for you with the Force.  You "imbue" a non-living object, like a datapad or a chair and it moves and attacks using the stats give for 1 of the choices in Summon Monster 1.

    Starship Feats - I think you must be looking in a different book.  my pg 206-207 is about Astrogation checks.  I did look up Ace Pilot but I don't see those abilities.

    I agree the abilities fit, but Starship Dodge (a 2nd tier feat after Operations) just adds +1 to your ship DC, not -10.  Wink

    You need operations for sure, as the core feat and then you can pick Starship Dodge or something else.

    A ship can certainly have advanced prototype weapons!   But you would need to buy them 1 at a time using your starting money - so you could make a base starship weapon +1 in the same way (same cost) as making a sword into a sword +1.

    Again though, the party has a very advanced ship - with a prototype cloaking device!  "No ship that small has a cloaking device!" .... this one does Wink

    I would suggest spending your $$ on your character and be part of the crew.  If you really want a ship, then a Starfighter might be a better companion ship to the party's Mandalorian Gunship.  There are lots of things to do on a ship:  pilot, fire wpns, use shields, repair, re-route power, use sensors, etc.  A freighter really needs a crew of 3-4 to be optimal efficiency.

    Okay, yeah, I was working out of the Saga Edition Core Rulebook.
    Now that I have the same book as everyone else, it will likely clear up some issues. lol

    I think I'll take another look at my 1st level spells and decide on something more appropriate than monster summoning. I'll get back to you on that.

    Instead of trying to get another starship involved, I'll just work as part of the crew with the others. I'll keep my starfighter piloting abilities (reworked of course), and just hope that they come in handy someday.

    The jawa thing was just for roleplaying background. I like the idea of having a little companion-friend to run errands for me, and for those moments when you need a plot device. I'm not trying to use him to beef up my combat abilities. But I'll leave that one up to you as to how it works into the campaign and your story.

    Cool, thanks for being flexible!

    I like the idea of your Jawa companion too. Others have mentioned companions and I plan to introduce some companions as the story unfolds, based on the direction the party takes. But I would rather develop them and your connection to them through roleplaying and in the context of the story.

    Just as an example - think about the movies....... does the party try to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt on Tatooine or search for the plans to the shield generator on Endor?

    This gives the party more choice in the direction the game takes and makes the party's choices matter.

    Does the party want to invest time in acquiring a Starfighter for Bos? or look for you missing Jawa buddy? or......

    I decided to change Summon Monster I to Identify. Since I have a ton of knowledge skills it makes sense to have that ability and it doesn't even seeming magical.

    Ok.  The feat "Starship Operations Space Transport" will cover both piloting and weapon systems for 99% of the ships we are likely use.  You can get it for free per Chris's campaign bonus feat.  

    I'm not sure what "Vehicular Combat" and "Starship Weapons" do for you, but you probably don't need them if you have "Starship Ops. Transport" You could swap one for the "St. Shp. Ops Starfighter" feat or whatever else you wanted.

    You also get two campaign bonus knowledges at maximum ranks and 1 campaign bonus skill at max. (Piloting?)

    You can choose one 6 mythic paths, a special path feature, a path ability, and a mythic feat.  You will also get a few basic mythic qualities that advance.
