Extra Channel (5th):You can channel divine energy more often.
    Prerequisite: Channel energy class feature.
Benefit: You can channel energy two additional times per day.

Improved Channel (7th):Your channeled energy is harder to resist.
    Prerequisite: Channel energy class feature.
Benefit: Add 2 to the DC of saving throws made to resist the effects of your channel energy ability.

    Liberator (9th)
    Titan Strike (Mythic)

Channel Smite (11th):You can channel your divine energy through a melee weapon you wield.
    Prerequisite: Channel energy class feature.
Benefit: Before you make a melee attack roll, you can choose to spend one use of your channel energy ability as a swift action. If you channel positive energy and you hit an undead creature, that creature takes an amount of additional damage equal to the damage dealt by your channel positive energy ability. If you channel negative energy and you hit a living creature, that creature takes an amount of additional damage equal to the damage dealt by your channel negative energy ability. Your target can make a Will save, as normal, to halve this additional damage. If your attack misses, the channel energy ability is still expended with no effect.

    CLERIC
    Aura
    Channel Energy (negative): 5d6, x4/day
An evil cleric (or a neutral cleric who worships an evil deity) channels negative energy and can choose to deal damage to living creatures or to heal undead creatures. A neutral cleric of a neutral deity (or one who is not devoted to a particular deity) must choose whether she channels positive or negative energy. Once this choice is made, it cannot be reversed. This decision also determines whether the cleric can cast spontaneous cure or inflict spells (see spontaneous casting).

Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (either undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric. The amount of damage dealt or healed is equal to 1d6 points of damage plus 1d6 points of damage for every two cleric levels beyond 1st (2d6 at 3rd, 3d6 at 5th, and so on). Creatures that take damage from channeled energy receive a Will save to halve the damage. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the cleric's level + the cleric's Charisma modifier. Creatures healed by channel energy cannot exceed their maximum hit point total—all excess healing is lost. A cleric may channel energy a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. This is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. A cleric can choose whether or not to include herself in this effect.

    Domains: Madness & Travel

Vision of Madness (Sp): You can give a creature a vision of madness as a melee touch attack. Choose one of the following: attack rolls, saving throws, or skill checks. The target receives a bonus to the chosen rolls equal to ½ your cleric level (minimum +1) and a penalty to the other two types of rolls equal to ½ your cleric level (minimum –1). This effect fades after 3 rounds. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.
Aura of Madness (Su): At 8th level, you can emit a 30-foot aura of madness for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level. Enemies within this aura are affected by confusion unless they make a Will save with a DC equal to 10 + ½ your Cleric level + your Wisdom modifier. The confusion effect ends immediately when the creature leaves the area or the aura expires. Creatures that succeed on their saving throw are immune to this aura for 24 hours. These rounds do not need to be consecutive.

Agile Feet (Su): As a free action, you can gain increased mobility for 1 round. For the next round, you ignore all difficult terrain and do not take any penalties for moving through it. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Dimensional Hop (Sp): At 8th level, you can teleport up to 10 feet per cleric level per day as a move action. This teleportation must be used in 5-foot increments and such movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity. You must have line of sight to your destination to use this ability. You can bring other willing creatures with you, but you must expend an equal amount of distance for each creature brought.

    Notes...

~Flurry of Blows: Starting at 1st level, a monk can make a flurry of blows as a full-attack action.

When doing so, he may make one additional attack, taking a –2 penalty on all of his attack rolls, as if using the Two-Weapon Fighting feat. These attacks can be any combination of unarmed strikes and attacks with a monk special weapon (he does not need to use two weapons to utilize this ability).

For the purpose of these attacks, the monk's base attack bonus from his monk class levels is equal to his monk level. For all other purposes, such as qualifying for a feat or a prestige class, the monk uses his normal base attack bonus.

    ~Feat: Liberator (Story)

Your time in shackles has forever marked your soul.

Prerequisite: You must have been enslaved for at least 6 months, or have the Imprisoned or Kidnapped background.

Benefit: You gain a +1 bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, and skill checks when your actions would directly lead to freeing prisoners or slaves.

Goal: Free at least 200 slaves through perilous rescues (not merely buying them at market).

Completion Benefit: You gain the ability to inspire others through your dedication to your cause. Allies within 20 feet receive your Liberator feat bonuses when working with you to free prisoners or slaves. In addition, as a standard action you can inspire slaves and former slaves within 120 feet, giving them temporary hit points equal to 1/2 your character level and a +1 bonus on saving throws. These benefits last for 1 hour, and a given creature can receive this benefit only once per day. These are mind-affecting effects, and the inspiring bonus is language-dependent.

    ~IRWIN (notes)...

    GM:
    "Sharn 2.0 Bird_d10

    + holo recorder\camera
    + microphone

100 hrs of video storage capacity

1 empty tool mount (you can fill in later) [blaster pistol]

    + persistent personality feat

+ speed is 16, perfect flying

cut the unspent skill points down to 8 (since he got some bonus stuff), but use them for additional languages or knowledges

    [edit]
    +4 Stealth
    +4 Perception

I look at it like a skill program, so call it 4 ranks in each, consider it a class skill for any future allocation.

It is a bit confusing since I took a few skill points away for the extra feats and gear I gave him, sorry. Irwin is a level 1 Diplomat, as listed in his info. If you add up the skill points, he gets 3 for diplomat and 3 for his Int bonus.

Irwin, assuming he accompanies you and actually does things, will progress in levels like a familiar or a pet, always staying 3 levels behind you. So Irwin will get 6 skill points at next level, along with whatever other stat adjustments come with a Diplomat 2. At 3, he gets another feat, etc etc

If you want Irwin to learn a totally new skill, you will need to buy a program for that skill to get it started (and spend the skill points, of course).

Don't forget, Irwin still has an empty mount space..... if anyone in the party has Repair, Computer use and the appropriate craft skills....."

"Can Irwin have an installed Commlink?"

GM: "I am sure there would be room for that. Somebody with some combination of the following skills could probably accomplish that easily enough

Repair + 1 of the others

    knowledge: droids, technology
    craft: droids, technology"

Chris, how soon are you planning to start this?

assuming most folks want to play, not until after Alan is finished, so I think we have some time, but I am ready to start as I have a bunch of material from the aborted SR conversion.

Is it okay to use the Wookie species from d20 SW book?

If I build a Cleric, I don't need to pick a deity, right? I can just select two domains that appeal, yes?

please re-skin something from PF for race. there are lots of options. The d20 SW races weren't very well balanced. Check out the race book too.

I would think a 1/2 orc would be a natural fit - +2 str, swap out Orc Ferocity for "toothy" to get claws, +2 intimidate, etc

they even have a racial class variant - Hateful Rager, for sort of a dark-side berserker, if you don't go cleric

A specific named deity is just for flavor, so it is optional in my book

Okay, sounds good. And I'm still going with Cleric. Leaning towards Travel and Madness domains. I might do a 2 or 3 level dip in Monk. Enjoyed how that worked out for Olivia. Monk is a good dipping class... or Brawler? Unchained version of Monk? PF can't be said to have a paltry selection of options.

So then, one tier of mythic?

I was thinking of making Irwin as a construct familiar. Or animal companion, maybe.

Okay, I started making a conversion of Wookie. Comparing/contrasting SW20 Revised and Pathfinder race builder:

    RP - Trait - Desc.
    0 - Medium size
    0 - Standard Ability Modifier Quality - +2 physical, +2 mental, -2 any
    0 - Language - Zenophobic
    6 - Fast Healing
    2 - Claws - 2 attks, 1d4 damage each
    2 - Skill Bonus - +2 Intimidate
    1 - Skill Training - Intimidate, Climb
    4 - Ferocity
2 - Climb - climb speed of 20 and +8 on Climb checks

    = 17 RP

So that's kind of high, when you consider the core races are in the 8 - 11 range. Using the wookie race in SW as a template, some of the abilities I took aren't an exact equal substitute. There's no racial Rage ability that I could see, which is why I took Ferocity. There's also Orc Ferocity, which is weaker (and only 2 RP's), but it seems nigh worthless IMO. And Skill Training in climb and Climb ability are somewhat redundant. I'm not married to the idea of playing a raging wookie, but it does fit with the stereotype.

Zenophobic language option doesn't even come close to the penalty that SW imposes on wookie race. I should gain an RP for not being able to communicate in Basic. Just sayin'.

So I am wondering, what does the GM consider to best be on the chopping block? Fast Healing is the most OP, but it's actually fairly close in line with SW's version. Ferocity has some flavor, but not really the same, and certainly not neccessary for the character.

By the way, are you using Vitality? Just for Force powers? Is it just Con score?

I don't intend to use any of the SW classes, powers, or feats. I'll be going Cleric 8 / Monk 2 and just reskin PF spells and abilities to be like the force.

I think you did a good job of translating the Wookie!

If you really want to use the Race Builder, then knock it down to the 8-11 range OR you can go up to 20, but it costs you -1 level (not worth it, imo)

    currently at RP = 17

Fast Healing is OP, but it really does fit the Wookie.  If it were me, I would try to keep it!  (and lose some of the lesser ones)

just my personal take on a Wookie

In SW, they got +4 str, but then -2 to Dex, Wis and Cha.   (one of the reasons SW races were borked)

in PF, I would say the closest stat package is

Mixed Weakness (–2 RP): Pick either mental or physical ability scores. Members of this race gain a +2 bonus to one ability score of that type and a –2 penalty to another ability score of that type. They also gain a +2 bonus to one ability score of the other type and a –4 penalty to another ability score of the other type.

    +2 Str, -2 dex.  +2 Int\Wis, -4 cha

that gives you a net gain of 2 RPs

Language - Xenophobic, yes.  But also, you cannot speak basic, so that is worth -1 RP

    RP = 14

    Other Traits:

    here is your Rage
Frenzy (2 RP): Prerequisites: None; Benefit: Once per day, whenever a member of this race takes damage, it flies into a frenzy for 1 minute, gaining a +2 racial bonus to Constitution and Strength, but a –2 penalty to AC.   (but it isn't very good)

Advanced Strength (4 RP): Prerequisites: None; Benefit: Members of this race receive a +2 racial bonus to Strength. Special: This bonus can be taken multiple times, but each additional time it is taken, its cost increases by 1 RP. Its effects stack.
      (but probably too expensive)

to me, I would drop Claws (remember, culturally Wookies don't use them to fight, only for climbing) and Skill Training in Climb\Intimidate or SKill bonus Intimidate.  That would save you -2 RP for claws and either -1 or -2 for the other

That would get your RP down to 10 or 11.  It lets you keep Fast Healer and Frenzy and Climb (which gives +8 and 20 spd) which is superior to just the skill bonus(es).  With Monk class, the claws are a waste anyways and don't fit culturally.

What do you think about that?

In response to your other questions:

PF rules, so no Vitality at all.  SW classes would have to spend their HP

as GM, I will likely use 90% PF for all my NPCs.  it is just easier.  I am re-skinining Paladins, Magus, Gunslingers, Sorcerers, etc.  I was really tempted to just toss out the SWd20 book entirely, but I thought some folks might want the "classic" Jedi powers and not like the reskinning.  As it stands, I think only Josh is using the SWd20 rules for his character, everyone else is re-skinning PF.

Still deciding on Mythic, 1 tier if we start with it

Okay here's the updated Wookie race breakdown:

    RP - Trait - Desc.
    0 - Medium size
    0 - Standard Ability Modifier Quality - +2 physical, +2 mental, -2 any
-1 - Language - Zenophobic - Cannot speak Basic or any other language except Shyriiwook
    6 - Fast Healing
1 - Skill Training - Intimidate, Climb - Trained as a class skill in Intimidation and Climb
    2 - Frenzy
2 - Climb - climb speed of 20 and +8 on Climb checks

    = 10

I know I have a limit of 11, but this seems crunchy enough. Thanks for finding Frenzy. No problem with not using claws. You gave it to me in SW, but doesn't make a huge difference. And no, I didn't take Mixed Weakness either. Standard works for me . Hope that's okay.

Otherwise this is a race build I can work off of! What a Face

taking Frenzy over Ferocity helped - you kind of get Ferocity using the Mythic Rules anyways Wink

Yes he did. He learns to manipulate the force more easily. Irwin tagged along.

Question: Are we worrying about alignment or Dark/Light side points?

Great, I just needed to know where to pick up Sharn's story....

I said in the main thread (though it got too long) that Light\Dark will function like Good\Evil in terms of alignment in PF for anything (mostly spells or gear) that actually have a mechanical impact on alignment. So yes, we are using it (lightly) but I wouldn't worry about it.

It may have other minor\story influence - Light\Dark side artifacts, holocrons, etc

I should have Sharn's statistics completed and posted this week.

Not sure what part of the backstory you want to run, Chris. After the last adventure, Sharn went off to train with the Wookie. I suppose that took years?

Either way, when his training is over and Sharn is ready to leave, he still wants to accomplish a few things:

    1) Finish the documentary. Though the focus of it has shifted, considering all the crazed shit the party encountered. The film has become more of an investigation concerning those events.

Besides editing the footage and obtaining additional footage and informational interviews concerning the subject matter, Sharn also needs to complete all the post-production stuff (sound, graphics, credits, etc) and then find a distributor.

    2) War against the Trandoshans. However, Sharn's anger may have tempered some, because of his training with Attichitcuk. He's not as interested in Trandoshan genocide as he is in liberation of Trandoshan slaves. I'm considering taking a story feat in line with this theme. Perhaps he's already liberated some slave camps before the adventure begins

    Perfect!

I can work with that.  Definitely (1) can be completed during\after his training.  (2) works into some other elements I had in mind for other people's backstory.

The rest is getting the party together, which will happen once the different backstory threads are at a point where I can weave them together.  Shivak is starting 20-30 years back, before the last Episode even started, just as an example.  I am moving everyone towards a Nexus point (at least, I hope I am!) that will unite the old crew (Sharn) with the new cast.

Feel free to join Sharn's backstory before you complete his stats, since they don't really matter.

if you want to add items to Irwin, just buy magic items in PF and re-skin them for Irwin (pet)

that's a lot easier than converting SW costs to PF back to credits, etc
