    Tarek

    Fighter/Rogue

    Tarek – “the rat”

Tarek has been on his own since his father died when he was 9.  All his father imparted to him was how to fight and hold a sword… as well as how to steal and drink too much.  Tarek has been a hired thug and thief for most of his life.  He is currently free from the dungeon (or broke out, GM’s choice) and has made his way to Starfell and the region because he figures he can steal his heart out and get lost in the chaos.  Tarek will be loyal to anyone who’s nice to him… though this is difficult given his rather grating personality (and lack of general hygiene)

I changed my mind (shocking I know) I went with the spirit of what Alan was talking about in the other thread (although I still don't understand what you're belly-aching about "Mr. I crunch just as well as the next guy" GM)... anyway.  this guy is a Rogue's rogue.  He's a bit filthy, very crass and loves to get into trouble (hence the traits, sorry, I couldn't resist).. Except for the MW thieves tools, his gear is all normal... I figured that would be far more likely for his current situation.  The tools were a gift from dear old dad.... I will give you a brief backstory soon, but you need to be last for suspense purposes. Patience. You were briefly very rich and well equipped before yiu fell on misfortune. More soon.

Tarek made his way north expecting easy targets in the small towns and farms. To the contrary, most of the farmers had little of interest, the townsfolk were broke. He could pull off a good scam here or there, but then always had to leave town.
Lastwater was a rude awakening. Rough men don't need the law to protect their belongings, prospecting was harder work than he'd expected, and smuggling took too long to profit. But that tower looked interesting...
Tarak didn't get far. He'd swear it was magic, but no-one listened. The just took it away, along with all of his stuff, and locked him in the jail. Then the creatures came.
All Tarak could do was watch the slaughter and destruction... and wait for his turn to die. By morning he was starving and his hands were raw from unfruitfilly digging at the mortar and stone that would be his tomb if he didn't find a way out. After another day he had nearly lowered himself to prayer. Then he saw them.
