Chris wrote:Korvaq follows Loki into the Observatory. Loki points to 2 worlds in Yggsdrasil, "Do you see Alfheim and Vanaheim? There and there. They are both surrounded by a cloud of Golden Dust that has never been there before."
Korvaq watches as the Golden Dust expands through space and envelopes Midguard. As it does, the whole Tree begins to grow hazy. For a moment Korvaq sees many parallel Trees, as if Yggsdrasil is actually just a branch on a much larger tree. Other World Trees also appear as branches. Korvaq sees one World Tree that looks like it has Earth instead of Midguard, Romulus instead of Nifelheim and Kron'os instead of Jotunheim.

Zang begins the process of his transforming into a triceratops.... then something unusual happens. Zang notices that he is already covered in a fine sheen of Golden Dust (which is what prompted the saves). It must be in the air, but so fine as not to be noticed until it collects enough to cause problems.
The Golden Dust interferes with and alters his powers. It reminds Zang of some kind of radiation from his high-tech homeworld of Zyr.

However, the ride down does not go smoothly. The golden clouds appear to be electrically charged and the hover limo is tossed about wildly. A flash of lightning blows out the window on Steve's side and before Brick can react, he is sucked out the window!
As Brick is looking out the window, there is a flash of yellow light.....

Normally a reading requires Argul to physically touch the object, to hold it, to feel the psychic impressions inside it. However, the hologram is merely light. At first Argul struggles to get a reading from it. Argul decides to look inside the hologram. He begins to feel psychic energy within the hologram. He has never experienced a reading like this before and grows curious. Argul's perception begins to shift.... he is now inside the hologram. It's like a virtual reality of a memory. He is standing inside a room with rainbow-colored walls.
Arguls sees a memory of a child's bedroom. He senses this is how the child saw his room, perhaps not how it truly appeared.
Argul is describing what he sees for the man in the brown jacket, as is common for a reading. Argul hears the man reply as if from across a huge hall, but he can't make out what he is saying. Argul doesn't notice the monkey sprinkling some kind of golden dust on him.
Within the hologram something changes... the cartoon-like memory becomes more real. Argul's attention is drawn to a mobile hanging over a crib.

I caught the "golden dust" reference...and recognized that Argul was dealing with your Sorcerer/Wizard from "1000 Worlds".

I'm supposing that biker with the "flashlight" is Josh's Sith from our last Star Wars game...

BLENDING - d20 + character level + prime. Intention, bonus with Action
Paradox - breaking "accepted norms" of the current world, which causes observers to change into Xenos. BLENDING is a defense.
BLENDING ACTIONS - finding mundane ways to explain supernatural abilities (Argul and Ion did this)
KARMA - gold equivalent
Ion - spent KARMA to pull a greatsword and a healing kit from the trunk of a car (need more knowledge on Karma)
Golden Dust - interferes with transmutation and conjuration (teleport inc). maybe more?
Golden Dust - appears harmful\fatal to Xenos

I'm really digging this! Both the mechanics you've built, and the "weaving in" of old and new campaigns. Really enjoying the idea of integrating aspects of stories we've been telling for 20 years being incorporated and built on.
Enjoy your vacation!

Argul can feel the infusion course through his body with the following effects:
heal all HP damage
heal all attribute damage
remove all negative conditions
Argul is now inoculated for Planes-walking. He will no longer be required to make a FORT + REF + WILL save every time he shifts dimensions. The treatment causes immediate condition: FATIGUED as the body adjusts to the infusion (it will disappear after a rest).

[quote="Robyo"]Does Zang have any previous xenobiology knowledge of the xenomorphs?
just to clarify.... Zang's knowledge of Xenomorphs in general is accurate. As a reminder, Zang made an important connection in the bridge scene
Zang has seen these specific Xenomorphs before, on his adopted homeworld. Just to clarify, Naga and Yuan-ti are not 2 distinct races, as Zang originally thought (in your backstory). They are 1 race + a Xenomorph version of that race.
Zang recalls Cap saying the following earlier (in case it got lost)

He underwent a quest to find Thaak's Headband. A powerful device for granting it's wearer great wisdom, Zang attained it from the queen of the Yuan-ti, Ssaraharass. She was intrigued by Zang's nature and gave him a history teaching of sorts.
Zang managed to escape, despite Queen Ssaraharass's best efforts.

Salyut Clinic is a wagon-wheel shaped space station somewhere in deep space (no nearby planets or stars)
Salyut Clinic acts as a magic shop to buy items without the chance of failure for magic items usually associated with spending karma (gp)
Rasso has gone off the deep end, after being 'attacked' by Argul. Rasso summoned his signature black tentacles which stymied the party long enough for him to exit through his version of an inter-planar portal. Why his "black madness" portal looks different than the rainbow portals is unclear. Rasso shared his opinion on the Xenomorph plight, for what's its worth

Rasso's voice seems to come from all around the room, as he enjoys a soliloquy, " I am not your enemy! Our common enemy is, and has always been, the XENOMORPHS. They are a CANCER upon the worlds of the Mutliverse. They have METASTASIZED from world to world. If left untreated, they will consume the host until all worlds are dead. If there is any hope for survival, they must be forced into REMISSION! We must attack them aggressively on every world. "
Rasso's rant reaches a feverish pitch, "I discovered the secret of PARADOX! It is not a threat to us... NO!.... it is a gift! It is the method of our CHEMOTHERAPY! I will draw out the Xenomorphs on every world and destroy them."
Rasso's tone turns quiet and deadly, "I am not your enemy. But I will destroy you, if you stand in my way."
The "black madness" portal vanishes and with it Rasso. His tentacle spell remains (he is crazy, after all).

The Phylliroe moans, "And now the Golden Dust has appeared. It seems to be a poison to the Xenomorphs, but it also disrupts Conjuration, Transmutation and Teleportion. (to the party) Do you have any information on the Xenomorphs or the Golden Dust? "
