    Brick Rockman
    AC 18
    HP 88

    SR 19

    Initiative 13

"Look out Qaj," Brick Rockman commands.  "Brick Rockman to the rescue!"

As a move action he gains weapon focus Grapple (martial flexibility).
Brick pops out of his seat, which finally gives way completely to his abuse.  He reaches for the creature at Q-10.

    Grapple 10+1-2+21= 30

If he wins the grapple, then As a swift action he will activate his quick run shirt to gain another move action.  Greater Grapple allows Brick to "maintain a grapple" as a move action, which he can use to pin.

    Grapple 4+1-2+21=24

Regarding the change in appearance of Paraxia, are you using a sort of universal template system for the various gods/domains? In that way, characters can still access their domains, if not their specific deities. Dragonstar campaign uses this system. It can be helpful technique when dealing with multi-world hopping.

Ah, thanks.  I was going off the stat block to the right (thanks for that!) and forgot about the buff  Sad

As for Paraxia.... it's a little more complicated than that Wink

Remember, Zang perfectly blended into this world.  When he called for Paraxia, she answered as she exists here.  Zang can try to reconnect to his world, and thus his Paraxia, as a standard action.

corrected HP, Brick took damage from one of the Xenos Twisted Evil

Brick springs into action!  Brick grabs ahold of the nearest Xeno.  It has a hard chitinous shell which reminds Brick of giant cockroach.  It is also coated is some kind of slime.  It was clearly not expecting to be grappled and it thrashes about wildly in protest.  It's razor-sharp tail ripping the seats and roof to shreds.

Grapple - inflicts a -4 penalty to the Xeno's dex.  Brick realizes that he would have missed the PIN if not for the penalty.  Xeno Q-10 now has conditions: grappled, pinned

    map is unchanged

Call it difficult terrain, so 1/2 speed to move from row to row or Acro check to negate

reminder, the Xeno nearest Korvaq is grappled and pinned by Brick. so he won't get an AoO if Korvaq moves around in his threat zone. Acro could also negate

study I just re-read the grapple rules AND searched the PF forums. I recalled a 3.5 rule that gave a 50% chance to hit the wrong target if 2 are grappling. However, that rule is gone from PF. It seems that the 2 grapplers are no longer required to share the same space. The standard -4 penalty for firing into melee still applies. Grapple, as a condition, applies a -4 dex penalty (-2 ac) so it's really only an effective -2 since the AC goes down as well. Precise shot negates the penalty entirely, of course

I should be able to do this... move to 10' south of the grappler and the xeno.... Flanking and one shot (drew weapon while moving)

    Roll(1d20)+10:
    17,+10
    Total:27

so that would be a 23 since he doesn't have Precise shot. If there's any reason why this can't be a sneak attack, I'll separate the damage.

    damage:

    Roll(1d8)+3:
    4,+3
    Total:7

    all fire.

    Sneak Attack:
    Roll(3d6)+0:
    3,5,6,+0
    Total:14

That all seems fine.  Korvaq picked the right weapon for this fight cheers

The Klingon scientist makes a shrewd tactical maneuver away from the threat and into a flanking position.  The Xeno cannot get an AoO since he is pinned. His disruptor burns the Xeno for extra damage! (vulnerability to fire) and he finds a weak spot under its chitinous shell.

Drivers update 1 (more to follow)

this is a bit complicated, so bear with me here.

    Robyo wrote:
He points to the minivan and Skree jumps out of the safari carrier! He darts out of the left side, landing on top the xeno's minivan. Acrobatics check? 16 + 8 = 24. If Skree has any movement left, he attacks the windshield (on the driver's side) with his talons.

The driver of the minivan is an average soccer mom.  She completely loses her shit as a dog jumps onto her roof and proceeds to smash her windshield.  She fails her Drive check and the minivan's front passenger corner slams into the rear driver wheels of the truck carrying the party.  That angles the truck towards about 11 o'clock and forces a Drive reaction from Ion.

Ion fails his Drive check and plows the truck head-first into the concrete median in the center of the bridge.  Since nobody was buckled up....  everyone in the truck is launched out from the violent collision.

study I am going to use a partial grenade scatter diagram for random direction and distance.

Korvaq, Argul, Brick, Ion and the 2 Xenos need to make Reflex saves DC 15 for half damage
ACRO\DEX check DC 20 to end up on your feet (normally 15, but harder because of speed)

Skree needs to make a CLIMB check to hold on DC 15 or ACRO check DC 15 to jump clear when the minivan hits the truck (and direction of his jump)

Brick also needs to make a Grapple check to hold onto the Xeno

The ball of fire remains in place

    Crash damage (like falling damage)
Result of the throw of dice "6d6" :

    3 + 5 + 5 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 19

study after the crash is resolved, I still need to resolve the rest of the moving traffic, but I need to know who is on their feet first.  Everyone's token is sideways, as I assume you are prone until you make your ACRO check.

study OOPS, I forgot to mention one things....  Korvaq (blended to look like an old guy in a sweater) pulls out his disruptor, only to find that it looks like .45 slug-thrower.  It still functions the same, but it doesn't look out of place.

    Xeno update:

Grappled\Pinned Xeno fails both its saves and takes 19 damage, remains pinned, badly wounded

Xeno makes its save for 1/2 but failed the acro check, so it is prone

    Ion:
Ion slowly pulls himself from the rear window of a yellow car.  His right arm hangs limp and part of clavicle is protruding through his shirt.  His face is a bloody mess.  He drops to 1 knee and appears to wipe the blood off his face with his good arm.  Brick and Zang notice that some of the cuts seem to vanish.  His right arm re-aligns itself in the shoulder socket.  It seems like he is making an effort to be discreet.

    Traffic update:

There is a pile-up centered on the car that Ion hit when he was flung from the safari truck.  The motorcycles seem to have avoided all collisions.  Argul hits the trunk of a green sedan, which causes the driver hit his brakes.  Several drivers get out of their cars and begin to take notice of the scene.

Korvaq is in immediate danger as a red car is heading right towards him.  The driver is looking down at his phone...

Reflex save to avoid the car

Korvaq's Evasion saves him from all damage yet again.

The Xeno however, isn't so lucky....   He just barely lifts his head up in time to see the grill of the red car.  Much like a bug hitting the windshield at 60mph, the chitinous Xenomorph explodes in a spray of green goo.  The green goo is highly acidic and begins to melt through the hood, engine block and pavement of the bridge.  Brick is nearly splattered, but was luckily just out of range!

"Well, this IS a fine how-do-you-do!" says Argul as quickly takes stock of the chaos around him. "All of this non-sense, and I'm quite certain to miss tea."

He (a small creature) crouches down behind the stopped green car as if to roll underneath and hide (Bluff if allowed).

    Bluff roll =
Result of the throw of dice "1d20 +15" :

    19 + 15 = 34

He then uses his Racial attribute: Spell-Like Ability, Lesser - VANISH
    VANISH
School illusion (glamer); Level bard 1, sorcerer/wizard 1
    Casting Time 1 standard action
    Component V, S
    Range touch
    Target creature touched
    Duration 1 round/level (up to 5 rounds) (D)
Saving Throw Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistance yes (harmless)
This spell functions like invisibility, except the effect only lasts for 1 round per caster level (maximum of 5 rounds). Like invisibility, the spell immediately ends if the subject attacks any creature.

If this combination of actions leaves him any movement, he'll use it (30ft) to move towards our driver (Ion? at J/10 or so?). With the intent of getting out of traffic and being within 10-20 ft of him. So looking to end at M10 if he can make it. if there are too many obstacles, he'll settle for M/6.

cheers great job picking up on being discreet! The Bluff check may be needed (like with the library scene) but I think you made enough of an action, in the midst of chaos, to cover the VANISH without attracting any Paradox... er.... attention Wink

The concrete dividing wall is about 3ft high, enough to stop a safari van. Call it double movement to hop over it or an ACRO DC 15 to ignore it. 15ft gets Argul on the wall next to Korvaq or NE of the Xeno. Argul can make it to M-10 since the Xeno is pinned by Brick and not allowed an AoO.

Xeno are up.... stand by. I am on the road for 1/2 day, so update will finish later, sorry

The Xeno pinned by Brick struggles against his control, but he is no match for the Intergalactic Heavyweight Champion!  He remains PINNED.

Bystander at N-4 felt something hit his car.  He gets out to look for Argul but finds nothing unusual.

Bystander J-14 moves to K-15 to investigate what hit his car. He finds an old man, who appears mildly injured, nothing unusual.

Bystander I-7 sees a giant man in a feather boa, which is definitely not right by any account.  He twitches violently and another Xenomorph rips through his image onto the bridge!

Bystander T-14 sees a hiker, which is fine, but the hiker is flying by some kind of rocket boots.  Bystander momentarily thinks, "that's cool!"  before a Xenomorph takes over!

Biker R-13 also sees a flying man, twitches and changes into a Xenomorph.

Biker T-11 pulls to a stop, but does not transform.

Biker K-15 is heading the wrong way and doesn't see anything unusual.  He continues off the map.

    All other drivers seem unconscious.

Zang uses a move action to move the flaming sphere into the xeno's space adjacent to it (R13).
    Fire damage: 4 + 5 + 1 = 10. REF save DC: 18

Then Zang spends his standard action to move: 10' vertically higher and 20' SW towards the minivan that Skree is on. He gestures to Skree to stay on guard.

Grapple (move action) 14+1-2+21=34* to deal damage:. Brick, using the creature s own tail to hog tie it, (pin), twists it's leg up to it's neck.  "Say uncle," spawn of villainy!"
    Dmg 2d6+7+1 = 7+7+1=15

If that isn't enough to finish the job, Brick will use his standard action to deal damage: 4+1-2+21=24*  Gorilla Clutch!
    Dmg 2d6+7+1 = 11+7+1=19

Pinned: A pinned creature is tightly bound and can take few actions. A pinned creature cannot move and is denied its Dexterity bonus. A pinned character also takes an additional –4 penalty to his Armor Class. A pinned creature is limited in the actions that it can take. A pinned creature can always attempt to free itself, usually through a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check. A pinned creature can take verbal and mental actions, but cannot cast any spells that require a somatic or material component. A pinned character who attempts to cast a spell or use a spell-like ability must make a concentration check (DC 10 + grappler's CMB + spell level) or lose the spell. Pinned is a more severe version of grappled, and their effects do not stack.

Thank you for not moving diagonally in 3d! Straight up\down and then X\Y is the easiest to calculate

The Xeno appears to dodge the flaming sphere and looks up at Zang with a menacing Hiss!

Brick crushes the Xenomorph. There is a sound like cracking open a crab leg. Instead of juicy meat, a florescent green acid leaks all over Brick when he crunches the creature.

ACID Result of the throw of dice "2d4" :

Knockout (Ex): At 4th level, once per day a brawler can unleash a devastating attack that can instantly knock a target unconscious. She must announce this intent before making her attack roll.  The target must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw (DC = 10 + 1/2 the brawler's level + the brawler's Strength) or fall unconscious for 1d6 rounds. Each round on its turn, the unconscious target may attempt a new saving throw. Creatures immune to critical hits or nonlethal damage are immune to this ability. At 10th level, 2x/day; at 16th level, 3x/day.

Ion assess the scene and looks skeptically at the driver next to him.  The driver is staring wide-eyed at the giant man in sequenced clothes and feathered boa.  Ion reaches into the trunk of the busted car and pulls out a tire iron.  Any of the party looking that way sees a mirage-like shimmer around the tire iron and catches a glimpse of what looks like a medieval claymore, but only for a moment then it returns to being a tire iron.  Ion turns the driver around, speaking calmly and asking him to sit down on the far side of his car, which would be out of sight of Brick.

The driver appears agitated by what he has witnessed.  The party suspects he may burst into a Xeno if left unattended.  Ion readies an attack with his blended greatsword if he pops.

The driver at P-5 gawks at the hiker flying 25ft in the air!

The biker at T-11 dismounts and draws what looks like a flashlight from his belt.

    Argul
    HP 23/48
    AC 10
    Invisible, 4 rounds remaining

Argul has observed the general fashion of the humans in the vehicle traffic around him. He activates his Hat of Disguise and crafts his image to that of a shorter but average looking man, in a plain brown business suit, with no beard and a different face. Should his current state of invisibility cease, he intends to fit in with the locals. The powers of the hat (equal to that of the spell  disguise self) allow him to adjust his image to seem up to 1 foot taller, as well as other details...

He then moves down the median to M/16.

Argul slides into position along the median undetected.

Ion is keeping the driver distracted and un-altered... for the moment.

The 2 Xenos move in for attacks!

One jumps onto the minivan and bites at Skree with his double jaws... he hits!

    damage:
Result of the throw of dice "2d6 +4" :

    6 + 4 + 4 = 14

Result of the throw of dice "1d4" :

    2

    14 piercing +2 acid

The other uses its high speed to move diagonally 1 square, then climb (it has a natural climb speed) vertically up the safari truck (10ft high), then make an ACRO check to jump 5 ft in the air DC 20 (+1 ft per 4 on the roll).  It gets +5 for its high speed and +16 ACRO...   It leaps 7 ft in the air (17ft total) and lashes at Zang with its 10ft reach tail!

study I think that is legal, not 100% sure, but it looks cool in my mind....

Xeno will make a grapple check as its attack and hits Zang.  Its tail wraps around his leg - both now have condition GRAPPLED!  The Xeno is hanging from Zang's leg by its tail.

    "Hang on Skree, little buddy!"

Grappled: A grappled creature is restrained by a creature, trap, or effect. Grappled creatures cannot move and take a –4 penalty to Dexterity. A grappled creature takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and combat maneuver checks, except those made to grapple or escape a grapple. In addition, grappled creatures can take no action that requires two hands to perform. A grappled character who attempts to cast a spell or use a spell-like ability must make a concentration check (DC 10 + grappler's CMB + spell level), or lose the spell. Grappled creatures cannot make attacks of opportunity.
A grappled creature cannot use Stealth to hide from the creature grappling it, even if a special ability, such as hide in plain sight, would normally allow it to do so. If a grappled creature becomes invisible, through a spell or other ability, it gains a +2 circumstance bonus on its CMD to avoid being grappled, but receives no other benefit.

Zang moves the Flaming Sphere (round 3, it has 5 more rounds available) into P-13, the location of the xeno attacking Skree.
    Concentration check? 13 + 8 + 6 = 27

REF save from Xeno to negate the flaming sphere, DC 18. If not, Fire damage: 6 + 5 + 4 = 15

Then Zang draws his scimitar and unleashes it's flame tongue ability on the xeno hitching a ride to his leg.

"Once per day, the sword can blast forth a fiery ray at any target within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. The ray deals 4d6 points of fire damage on a successful hit."

Touch Attacks: Some attacks completely disregard armor, including shields and natural armor—the aggressor need only touch a foe for such an attack to take full effect. In these cases, the attacker makes a touch attack roll (either ranged or melee). When you are the target of a touch attack, your AC doesn't include any armor bonus, shield bonus, or natural armor bonus. All other modifiers, such as your size modifier, Dexterity modifier, and deflection bonus (if any) apply normally. Some creatures have the ability to make incorporeal touch attacks. These attacks bypass solid objects, such as armor and shields, by passing through them. Incorporeal touch attacks work similarly to normal touch attacks except that they also ignore cover bonuses. Incorporeal touch attacks do not ignore armor bonuses granted by force effects, such as mage armor and bracers of armor.

    Ranged Touch Attack: 15 + 10 (6 bab, 2 dex*, 2 magic) - 2 (grapple) = 23, and xeno doesn't get armor or natural armor bonus.
    Fire Damage: 5 + 3 + 5 + 1 = 14

If the monster is still hanging on, 2nd melee attack with the scimitar. Attempting to slice off the tail that is grabbing.
    2nd attack: 11 + 4 - 2 = 13
    Doubt that's a hit, but if so: 2 + 3 = 5 slashing

*Sorry for posting all the rules, they're really more for my benefit. I'm still learning. Not sure if you penalize me an additional -2 for the -4 to Dex? Not sure. Wait to see how this all goes off, before Skree goes.

study I think you are all good on the rules, up to the last swing (which missed anyways).  thanks for posting them!

Controlling the Flaming Sphere = move action
    Concentration check seems appropriate
Xeno botches his REF save and gets roasted for 30 damage!  ouch

You are right on Touch attacks and the Xeno grappling Zang is scorched for 28 damage!  ouch again
Making a single attack = standard action
drawing the sword = free using the 5e added rules  cheers

The fire is enough to make the Xeno lose its grip on Zang. It drops 5ft to the roof of the safari truck.

Zang could make a swing and shoot a ray as a "full round action", just like taking 2 swings.  But he used his "move" to control the sphere, leaving only a "standard" action remaining.

    Skree still has his actions

Skree makes two attacks with his talons at the adjacent (burning) alien:
    1st) 12 + 10 = 22; if a hit 6 + 3 + 3 = 12 slashing* damage
    2nd) 3 + 10 = 13; 5 + 1 + 3 = 9 slashing

Skree's natural attacks are 1 bite, 2 claw, and 2 talons.

    Skree
    AC: 20
    HP: 80/96
    Pass Perc: 15
    Move: 60'

    *According to the bestiary:
    Bite = B/P/S
    Claw = B/S
    Gore = P
    Hoof/Tentacle/Wing = B
    Pincers/Tail Slap = B
    Slam = B
    Sting = P
    Talon = S
    In addition it states:
"The Damage Type column refers to the sort of damage that the natural attack typically deals: bludgeoning (B), slashing (S), or piercing (P). Some attacks deal damage of more than one type, depending on the creature. In such cases all the damage is considered to be of all listed types for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction"

The ACID has run its course. study initial burn for 1 rd + 1 rd residual burn

Brick has enough movement to reach the Xeno over the roof of the minivan. Brick is standing on the cement median with 1 foot propped on the minivan's roof. The roof buckles and groans under his weight.

This Xeno has been burned, clawed and now clobbered... which is more than it can withstand. Brick swings his arm around like a giant windmill, delivering a crushing HAMMERFIST, one of his signature moves given his height.

The Xeno explodes into a spray of acid that hits Brick and Skree

Result of the throw of dice "2d4" :

    1 + 1 = 2

It will burn again for d4 next round

Korvaq does a little parkour wall running on the median to clear the acid puddles in stride.  He takes careful aim at the Xeno on top of the safari van....  the disruptor lives up to its name and vaporizes the Xeno on a critical hit!

Combat is over - assuming you can keep any more bystanders from seeing anything that doesn't fit in their world like a giant wrestler or a flying hiker.

study each party member receives 4250 KARMA (gold with a new mechanic to be explained later)

The biker runs over to the driver and waves his hand, "you were in a bad car accident.  You were watching WWE on your phone, got distracted and hit your head."

The biker looks at Ion, "Get them outta here before anyone else sees them!"

Ion replies, "Thanks, Daxx."  To the party, "Our truck is smashed.  Can anyone do a quick fix or we could take another vehicle or the motorcycles?  We need to clear out and try to disguise Brick if we can.  I can answer questions later."

The party can see more cars approaching on the bridge and golden fog rolling in both sides of the bridge.
You figure you don't have much time to make a decision.

    A) repair the safari truck somehow

    B) take motorcycles

    C) take another vehicle

    D) disguise Brick

    E) something else, totally up to you

Brick is at first dumfounded.  Then he begins to play along as if he understands everything.  "Yes, of course we must do something right away...". Bluff 18+10=28

Finally it clicks:. "clearly my overwhelming celebrity profile is drawing attention to this terrible accident.". And I could lose points...

    no problem!

advanced combustion engine, high end of pre-warp tech level civilization.  it has gears and gas\brakes.  Korvaq figures the hardest part would be balancing on it to ride (ride check)
