    Argul floats above Zang.

at 11, anyone still standing on the ground needs to make a REFLEX save DC 20 or be knocked prone!  It feels like something slams UP from underneath the party.  The ground becomes displaced, as shown, which is now difficult terrain

at 10, the Facehugger swarm attacks!

Korvaq only has 3 on him, since he wisely burned many of them down during his turn.  I don't see a CMD for Korvaq, so Josh will have to check to see if he is GRAPPLED by any of them.  They are small sized, but vicious:

3 CMB attacks vs Korvaq, results to check vs CMD = 20 (not natural), 13, 11
if any of those hit, Korvaq is grappled by a facehugger

Brick looks like a tasty host and has drawn more attention, with 5 facehuggers on him, thank you for CMD 35 vs grapple

5 CMB rolls - 13,9,9,14,12 are all misses, but they are crawling all over and around Brick

study note - your CMD will go down if you are prone from REFLEX above

Skree has 4 facehuggers on him, but he had readied attacks, so he can make attacks when Rob gets a chance, then I can resolve the remaining grapples

It looks like more eggs are opening!

    Now for Brick's actual turn:

Swift: arcane pool, Brick's unarmed strike becomes +1 flaming.

    5' step due west.

    "Qaj, are you okay?"

Brick Rockman will Attack any facehuggers that survived his AoO first and spend any attacks that remain on the ones he can reach that are attacking Korvaq.

    Clever plan, but I rolled a 1.

Zangulor's wary of channeling Praxia's divine energy. She has become corrupted and he wants no part of that. Instead he draws favor from the Cosmic Mother.

Zang understands it is an equal balance of forces throughout the universe which are necessary for cosmic harmony. The xenomorphs upset that balance. They corrupt nature itself. They must be eradicated.

    "Nice boomstick!"

Skree is hungry. MEAT. Wants some. Tastes good. He doubts the bug-things are palatable. But he will guard the arch, and kill the bugs. Perhaps then the master will be pleased and give him meats.

    Skree REFLEX save: 5 + 11 = 16.  Skree is knocked prone.

    1st) talon attack: 17 + 12 - 4 = 25; 6 + 3 + 4 = 13 piercing damage. If the first facehugger is hit and killed, he moves on to the next one.

    2nd) talon attack: 10 + 12 - 4 = 18; 3 + 1 + 4 = 8 piercing.

Zang connects with the Cosmic Mother.  She is strong and healthy, unlike this world.

    Chris wrote:

Zang casts Diviniation and Conjuration at +2 levels here and +2 SAVES vs the same schools, all others at normal

Brick plays Whack-a-bug with the approaching facehuggers!  He squishes 4 of the 5, fortunately, they don't have acid for blood.  1 remains near Brick, but he slips a step to the left.

Skree gets knocked over from the minor earthquake, but still manages to gut 1 of the approaching facehuggers and wound another. 3 of them jump on Skree.

2 miss outright, but 1 manages a GRAPPLE around Skree's neck with its tail (next it will immobilize, then impregnate)

study I will update the map in the morning at work

I take it the facehuggers have grab, Improved grapple, or some other ability that prevented Skree from getting his OA?

    He tries to break the grapple: 20 + 10 = 30. Whoo!

Is that a success? Zang's action depends on the outcome.

correct.  Brick got AoO because he has 10ft reach. They are pretty pathetic really (10hp, +3 to attack, but their sole purpose in life is to grab something by the neck)

Zang casts Call Lightning Storm. First target is the bug that grappled Skree.
    6 + 2 + 6 + 3 + 5 = 22 electricity damage. Reflex Save vs DC 21 for 1/2 damage.

    Call Lightning Storm
School evocation [electricity]; Level druid 5
    Range long (400 ft. + 40 ft./level)
This spell functions like call lightning, except that each bolt deals 5d6 points of electricity damage (or 5d10 if created outdoors in a stormy area), and you may call a maximum of 15 bolts.

    Call Lightning
School evocation [electricity]; Level druid 3
    Casting Time 1 round
    Components V, S
    Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Effect one or more 30-ft.-long vertical lines of lightning
    Duration 1 min./level
Saving Throw Reflex half; Spell Resistance yes
Immediately upon completion of the spell, and once per round thereafter, you may call down a 5-foot-wide, 30-foot-long, vertical bolt of lightning that deals 3d6 points of electricity damage. The bolt of lightning flashes down in a vertical stroke at whatever target point you choose within the spell's range (measured from your position at the time). Any creature in the target square or in the path of the bolt is affected.
You need not call a bolt of lightning immediately; other actions, even spellcasting, can be performed first. Each round after the first you may use a standard action (concentrating on the spell) to call a bolt. You may call a total number of bolts equal to your caster level (maximum 10 bolts).
If you are outdoors and in a stormy area—a rain shower, clouds and wind, hot and cloudy conditions, or even a tornado (including a whirlwind formed by a djinni or an air elemental of at least Large size)—each bolt deals 3d10 points of electricity damage instead of 3d6.
This spell functions indoors or underground but not underwater.

    Spells used: 1-2nd, 1-5th.
*I forget, are we using standard spells per day, or 5e slots version?

    Korvaq lets another fireball rip!

at 14, the buzzing swarm of flying xeno-wasps arrives.  there are 2 groups of 4.  the first group splits into 2 wings of 2, 1 pair each attacking Argul and Zang in the air.

    ___________________________________________________________________________________________
    vs Argul
the first xeno-wasp botches his diving grapple attack and crashes on the ground next to Brick
the second hits with its acid-coated stinger!

    damage
Result of the throw of dice "2d8 +4" :
    1 + 6 + 4 = 11

    acid
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :
    5

    11 piercing + 5 acid

    ___________________________________________________________________________
    vs Zang

The first dive-bomber misses his grapple, but remains airborne
The second hits with his acid-coated stinger

Result of the throw of dice "2d8 +4" :
    3 + 1 + 4 = 8

    acid
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :
    4

    8 piercing + 4 acid

map update - I am going to use a separate aerial map, cuz it's getting messy otherwise

sure, as he moves through your threat zone.  the poor little bugger, he crashes face-first into the dirt, then gets the back of his head bashed by a giant feather-boa-wearing muscleman.

    Components V, S, M (a swan feather)
    Range medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Targets one creature/level, no two of which can be more than 30 ft. apart
    Duration 1 round/level
Saving Throw Will negates, see text; Spell Resistance yes
Your presence inspires incredible awe in those nearby. A creature that fails a save against this spell falls to the ground and prostrates itself before you, believing it bows before a divine presence. A flying creature incapable of hovering must land immediately in order to prostrate itself. These creatures are considered to be helpless for the duration of the spell. Each round on its turn, a target of this spell may attempt a new saving throw to end the effect; this is a full-round action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. A creature that recovers from this spell early after being affected by it for at least 1 round takes 1d6 points of Wisdom drain and is staggered for 1d4 rounds. A creature that makes the initial save to resist this spell is merely staggered for 1 round.

at 11 the ground beneath Korvaq and Brick explodes with upward force!

Brick, Korvaq, facehugger, downed Wasp, Skree + facehugger need to make a REFLEX save DC 20.  The upward force is now flinging you 5-20ft through the air.  Let's see if you land on your feet + grenade diagram for where you land

    Roll:  Reflex save DC20

1d12  (for direction, like face of a clock)

    1d4 for distance each 1 = 5ft thrown

possible falling damage if flung over 10 ft and failed save

then I will resolve the rest of the actions at 11 and 10

from some underground cave or tunnel, the ground explodes!  the force knocks back everyone in the immediate area as earth and rock are displaced.

a massive Xeno-Saurus Rex bursts into the fight!

at 10, the facehuggers swarm and attack

2 on Skree (depending on where he lands) - both miss their grapples

2 on Brick - 1 miss, 1 got a natural 20 and wraps its tail around Brick's neck!   Brick is GRAPPLED

2 on Korvaq - both misses

Skree is excited to see his reptilian relative show up to the party. Cousin Elmo! It's been so long. You look... a bit odd. How is Uncle Carl? It's heard as one long shrill, "Skreeeeeee!"

    He battles the facehuggers.
    1st attack): 6 + 12 = 18. If that's a hit: 2 + 1 + 4 = 7 piercing damage.
    2nd attack, *at same foe if still up): 19 + 12 = 31. Damage: 4 + 6 + 4 = 14 piercing.

    Zang zaps the flying bug on him with a lightning bolt. Electricity damage: 10 + 5 + 6 + 4 + 4 = 29.  Reflex Save vs DC 21 for 1/2 damage.

He uses a move action for totemic transformation, gaining the scales bonus: +2 natural armor bonus to AC.

As the invisibility imparted by VANISH grants Argul total concealment, they wasps cannot take AoO against him. As per SRD - "You can't execute an attack of opportunity against an opponent with total concealment, even if you know what square or squares the opponent occupies."

As he travels, Argul communicates a quick warning to his fellow flying compatriot -

Flash of Brutality (Su) Once per day as a swift action, a great cyclops Xeno-Saurus Rex can gain a burst of savage inspiration. When it does, it doubles the threat range of all weapons, natural attacks, and rocks it attacks with until the start of its next turn.

    Awesome Blow (Combat)
This creature can send opponents flying.

Prerequisites: Str 25, Power Attack, Improved Bull Rush, size Large or larger.

Benefit: As a standard action, the creature may perform an awesome blow combat maneuver. If the creature's maneuver succeeds against a corporeal opponent smaller than itself, its opponent takes damage (typically slam damage plus Strength bonus) and is knocked flying 10 feet in a direction of the attacking creature's choice and falls prone. The attacking creature can only push the opponent in a straight line, and the opponent can't move closer to the attacking creature than the square it started in. If an obstacle prevents the completion of the opponent's move, the opponent and the obstacle each take 1d6 points of damage, and the opponent is knocked prone in the space adjacent to the obstacle.

Brick's rocket boots kick in and he lifts 20' into the air, still horizontal. Now there are 3 of him.  (Mirror image).  "Is that all you've got?" The 3 Bricks scold the beast in unison as if they are disappointed. (Bonus for triple voice?)  Bluff 3+10=13 (okay, maybe he winces a bit).

As a swift action he gains the vital strike feat.

Since Brick moved first, he gets attacked by 3 Facehuggers as he passes vertically through their threat zones. Even Prone, with no Dex and nice bonuses.... all 3 fail their grapple checks, poor little buggers

Skree punishes the offending facehuggers with his talons.
    1st) 15 + 12 = 27; 3 + 2 + 4 = 9 piercing damage.
    2nd) 14 + 12 = 26; 4 + 3 + 4 = 11 piercing damage.
*As before, he will concentrate attacks on one enemy until dead, then move on to the next.

    Zang zaps the flying bug grappling him with a lightning bolt. Electricity damage: 10 + 4 + 7 + 10 + 5 = 36 electricity damage.  Reflex Save vs DC 21 for 1/2 damage.

*Is he still grappled? Zang has a move action remaining. He may still use a Hero point.

Skree finishes off both remaining Facehuggers on him!  Does he eat them?  I imagine they would taste like cicadas or scorpions - crunchy and full of protein

Zang bug-zaps the one grappling him.  These wasps don't seem as tough as the human-xenos you fought on the bridge (but they do fly, so there's that).  It's burnt husk drops to the ground.  Zang is free of the grapple, but still has a couple wasps threatening him in melee

    Argul is invisible

Acrobatics to reach space o-12. (fire should be out).

    Roll(1d20)+11:
    16,+11
    Total:27

Doses himself with the hypo spray - Invisible. Hypospray put away and Disrupter reappears in his right hand.

    Done for now

Invisible, Resist Energy 10 points - Acid (7 charges in Fireball wand)
    AC -20
    HP - 103
    CMD - 23

Do you want a Stealth roll as well? I think Invisibility already grants a bonus of +20

    Acrobatics
Move through a threatened area DC = Opponent's Combat Maneuver Defense

He jukes the facehuggers. Unfortunately for Korvaq, Xeno King has a CMD of 39! affraid  (41 vs bull rush or overrun)

The Xeno King notices Korvaq cartwheeling away and swipes at him with his tail

Result of the throw of dice "1d20 +25" :

    2 + 25 = 27

    damage:
Result of the throw of dice "3d8 +21" :

    6 + 2 + 2 + 21 = 31

    plus acid
Result of the throw of dice "1d6" :

    4

Korvaq has his acid resistance, so he only takes 31

Korvaq is now invisible at O-12

The Xeno-wasps are up, but Zang still had a move action that he held waiting to see if his spell killed the one grappling him, which it did.  So after Zang finishes, I will update the flying bugs

Zang stays where he is. I was unsure the lightning was affecting the flying bugs, but they do sizzle nicely.

Skree will sneak up behind Cousin Elmo. Stealth: 13 + 12 = 25
