Re: Return to darkness
I'd likely nerf that to 100lb per level if I were GMing, but maybe there is something I've missed in the rules that acts as a natural counterbalance already, or perhaps the 1K per lvl was errata.

Re: Return to darkness
This is why I was hesitant to allow that book. I need to spend more time reading through it to see if there is anything that limits some of those powers.

and, if it's still too powerful, I will adjust. Again, I don't really like to limit player creativity

it starts at 100 lbs per level (free all the time) but can go to 1000 lbs per level if you take 1 pt of Drain\Burn per round
I love the ranged combat maneuvers though! The idea of TK grapples, pins, trips, pulls just sounds like fun

It's cool stuff, for sure, good visuals and lots of improv capability. I get a "superhero" vibe from the class's abilties.

Superhero or MMO class for sure. It reminds me of a caster version of the Revanant class from Guild Wars 2 who had ability to teleport on hit, use instant shields and change element (spirits) during the fight to use different flavored powers.
I would love to see, or maybe I should make, a Mesmer from GW2. They were a combo fighter\mage class that used multiple invisibility tricks, teleporting and mirror images that actually attack. It was the most fun video game class that I ever played.

I had thought the class was based on the whole Avatar The Airbender shtick.
It's a strong class no doubt, but I still think Wizard rules, or Arcanist, for pure magic utility.

Re: Return to darkness
Kineticist is probably the closest to Jedi class in PF - they can even use their element to make an elemental lightsaber, not to mention the TK pushes, leaps, etc... there is even a power call "suffocate" which is exactly Force Choke with a different name.
Vader = pure TK
QGJ\Kenobi = TK + Paladin
Palpatine\Dooku = Air (lightning) + TK
Yoda = TK + monk

I will try to be done by Sunday at the latest, but hopefully tomorrow night. Getting ready to do the National Scout Jamboree next week and things are tight.
FYI - be on the road all Monday traveling to WV, but after that, I should be good to go for evening participation while on my trip.

Additionally, if you copy/ paste post the 1st option (a URL) when using the "insert image" button, you can enter custom dimensions for the image.
800 x 600 px usually works well for larger images like maps.
Drop it in increments of 200 for smaller images.

ah yes... just what we need, a bunch of people who have no fucking idea how to handle a sword walking around (ok, maybe 1-2% might know what they're doing)... and then they get shot because someone feels "threatened"

Re: Return to darkness
again... why?
A gun is all you need if your not psycho or a nerd. Just carry a Bowie knife. Far more concealable and just as useful.
I mean seriously... who the fuck carries 3 feet of steel around anymore? Armed Forces officers is all that I can think of, for ceremonial purpose of course.
I actually find this all rather amusing. I was just reading a new Civil War book that I got. One of the Union cavalry officers kept trying to instruct his men on the use of sabers from horseback... even though everyone had realized that they were all but useless given the fact that the vast majority of cavalrymen in that war used pistols, shotguns and carbines.
....ah, anachronism... it just won't go away

I agree with Josh, a bowie knife is probably more suitable, but just carrying a sword around feels so badass.
In a zombie apocalypse, for melee I'd go with 2 machetes. Or maybe a machete and a metal garbage can lid (shield).

when is the last time someone went on a school-swording spree?
blades are great for limiting casualties and are not weapons really capable of mass killings. blades also don't go through walls and hit innocent bystanders. many blades also have utility functions, etc
and think about the potential fashion possibilities

Re: Return to darkness
We're talking about implements of death. I think "limiting casualties" went by the board a while ago. Hypothetical: you're out with your sword, you actually know how to use it. You find yourself in a situation where you can use said weapon to defend someone else. You better damned sure have the situation perfectly in control... it's Texas, someone will have a gun. In fact, this being America, someone WILL have a gun.
You're already over matched unless that person has no idea what they're doing... quite a risk.
Fashion? Lol

Nah, the guy with the gun is disadvantaged. I see it on TV all the time. The guy with the sword will just dodge all of the bullets until he closes the distance, jumping over tree branches and then strikes swiftly!

Hi guys,
Momma Carbone is in the hospital with blood on her brain, surgery likely tomorrow. I am going to drive back, starting tonight and should be there tomorrow sometime. I will be offline for a bit, though I may check in just for distraction sake.
I will be in Rockford for at least a few days, maybe we can grab a bite to eat or hang out for a few? @Matt, Alan, Rob

I fly out of Denver at 550am tomorrow. I will meet Jon at O'hare and take the bus at 940 (hopefully) and be at the hospital around 12 so we can see Carole before her surgery
my return flight is on Tue, subject to Carole's condition.
