Fey Presence

ability to project the beguiling and fearsome presence
o f the fey. As an action, you can cause each creature in
a 10-foot cube originating from you to make a Wisdom
saving throw against your w arlock spell save DC. The
creatures that fail their saving throws are all charmed
or frightened by you (your choice) until the end of
your next turn.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until
you finish a short or long rest.

Warlocks are so cool. It was the first class I wanted to play when I read the 5e rulebook, but I have yet to do so. Excited to see Zerlyn in action.

how much 5e have you guys played? I have only played very briefly on the forums - 1 chapter with Matt and 1 game with Rob

Bryan Mashinter tried to dm a game for us last year which lasted all of 4 or 5 sessions, but the 5e ruleset recaptured my interest with its simplicity and elegance. Fast forward a year, and I started running the starter set (3 newbies and my first foray into DMing) of which we've had 6 or so sessions. About to kick off a new game as well with a mostly different group.

Most of my 5e experience thus far has been reading the collection of books Bryan gifted me, reddit and other forums alongside watching a number of live play podcasts/streams. I'm really stoked to be playing again with this group of well versed and experienced gamers.

Zerlyn has never quite fit in.... not with the true Drow of the Underdark for he was too pale and impure.  He didn't fit in with the surface dwelling elves, they didn't trust him for he was too dark.  He didn't fit in with the humans for he was too.... odd.  He talked to himself and seemed to know things he shouldn't.

As a child in the woods, Zerlyn was visited by a beautiful creature that called herself Titania.  She was like a magical queen to the young boy.  She whispered secrets in his ears and taught him how to win the hearts of foolish men.  There was always a price to pay, but it seemed a fair exchange with his Patron.  

Zerlyn spent much of his childhood and young life on the streets.  He stayed alive any way he could:  begging, stealing, killing... but his favorite tool was blackmail.  He got a certain sense of power from controlling others and using their vices against them.  Merchants, Captains of the town watch, travelers.... everyone wanted a bite of some forbidden fruit and Zerlyn would provide it.  His clients were all too happy to offer a bit of information in exchange for their pleasures.  What a small price to pay.  Zerlyn kept their secrets like coins in his pocket, until he needed to spend them.  Then his clients realized the actual price was very high.

Needless to say, Zerlyn tends to wear out his welcome wherever he goes.  He is ok with this, as there is always another place with new opportunities.  Recently, Titania whispered in Zerlyn's ear about a group of mercenaries fighting for the Fey in some far-off jungle.  Zerlyn was sure Titania had an ulterior motive in sending him there.  Titania sent him to the Sunlands and he found an acceptance he has never known.  Zerlyn feels more at home with the Burning Blades than in any city.  Did Titania know he would find this?  Was she truly just rewarding him with happiness?  What price will he have to pay her?
