    Depending on the situation, the division of plunder would change.

    For instance, if the ship were a Privateer, and was operating under a Letter of Marque, the division is most likely outlined by whomever issued the Letter.

    Typically, the commission would divide the spoils at a certain percentage for the captain and crew and the rest for the company or government that issued the letter. This percentage could be anything from 10% to 90% for the government. Quite often Queen Elizabeth settled for a 50/50 split.

    Once the government or got its share the rest would be divided among the captain and his crew. This would be decided ahead of time. A good rule of thumb would be that the captain would get two shares, while other important members of the crew would get between 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 shares. A seasoned crew member would get a 1 share, a new man may get as little as 1/4 share. This would differ from ship to ship and often would be agreed upon before setting sail.

    One Article of Piracy stated: the captain shall have one full share and a half in all prizes. the Master, Carpenter, Boatswain, and Gunner shall have one share and quarter. This leaves it open how much everyone else got. It may be that every else got one share or may be that each person was instructed individually what they would get. Other things were also considered. Boarding parties might get a bonus share.

    Most of this division of booty concerned items of wealth, such as gold, silver, gems, slaves, and merchandise like coffee, sugar cane, and textiles. While weapons and blades were also divided up, crews may have handled them differently. If you killed a man, then perhaps you got his pistol or cutlass if it were better than yours, or perhaps it went into a pool and captains and other senior members got first crack at ownership. Or perhaps you bought it by having its worth deducted from your share.

    It was common practice for leaders of boarding parties to get a first crack at a any captured pistols or blades. Quartermasters and Captains would also often lay claim to anything they felt was special and this too would be above and beyond the division of spoils. This was not unexpected. In fact, considering the pecking order onboard the ship, it was perfectly acceptable.

    Crispy eyes the Stout Agility Belt...he doesn’t much care the rest of it...but he does think that force bead would be pretty effective in an air strike...

    Hawkes does not like Kruhl taking spoils for a multitude of reasons and will be watching him closely. He is irked that the oathbreaker didn’t bristle at the earlier rebuke. But who am I to question the judgment of an island?

    Sjon is happy to hold the bag in service of the crew. He has no particular desire for anything else if someone could use it better. If nobody would make use of the staff, he would keep it from going to waste.

    Staff of the Woodlands requires attunement by a Druid, so no one else can use it. It is a pretty sweet staff if just for the +2 all attack rolls, including spell attacks, not to mention all the spells like Wall of Thorns

    Kruhl notices Sam recycle his armor and considers the concept... he wouldn`t have done it on his own ship, but it was Amona Ahna's generosity that spared him. He prefers to think it was his own stubbornness, but he knows better.

    Kruhl lays down his enchanted (+1) long sword and picks up the evil-looking Warhammer. He tests the weight of the head and the feel of a swing. Satisfied, he Hexes it into service as his Hexblade weapon.

    He also grabs the Bawdy Gnome Stories and gives Hawkes a quick nod.

    Wand of Enemy Detection

    Staff of the Woodlands

    The staff has 10 charges for the following properties. It regains 1d6 + 4 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the staff loses its properties and becomes a nonmagical quarterstaff.

    Spells: You can use an action to expend 1 or more of the staff’s charges to cast one of the following spells from it, using your spell save DC: animal friendship (1 charge), awaken (5 charges), barkskin (2 charges), locate animals or plants (2 charges), speak with animals (1 charge), speak with plants (3 charges), or wall of thorns (6 charges).

    You can also use an action to cast the pass without trace spell from the staff without using any charges.

    Tree Form: You can use an action to plant one end of the staff in fertile earth and expend 1 charge to transform the staff into a healthy tree. The tree is 60 feet tall and has a 5-foot-diameter trunk, and its branches at the top spread out in a 20-foot radius.

    The tree appears ordinary but radiates a faint aura of transmutation magic if targeted by detect magic. While touching the tree and using another action to speak its command word, you return the staff to its normal form. Any creature in the tree falls when it reverts to a staff.



    Druid only



    Staff of (Arcane) Defense

    The Staff of Defense is the staff formerly belonging to Iarno Albrek, who was known as Glasstaff due to this staff. The staff is slender and hollow and made entirely of glass, yet it is as strong as oak.

    Holding this staff grants a +1 bonus to armor class.

    The staff contains 10 charges used to fuel the spells within it. While holding the staff, it can be used to cast one of the following spells if the spell is on your class’s spell list:
    - Mage Armor (1 charge)
    - Shield (2 charges)

    The staff regains 1d6+4 expended charges each day at dawn. If the last staffs charge is expended, roll a d20. On a 1, the staff shatters and is destroyed.

    so anyone can use the staff and gain +1 AC and the arcane check bonus, but you can only cast the spells if they appear on your spell list

    spell list doesn't mean "known" just if it is possible for your class to cast it.

    Hawkes will buy a pearl and the last 50gp gem. He will take the lute for kicks an toss 10 go back as the lute is worth 25.
