    but you must pass a DC 20 Mechanics check to fire it. If you lose it,

    Rapid Fire: You may make 2 attacks with the same firearm in
    rapid succession as a standard action. Alternatively, you can fire 2
    Light firearms, 1 in each hand, as a standard action. You may direct
    attacks to the same foe or different foes. Apply a -2 penalty on both
    attack rolls.

    Free Minded: Once daily, when you fail to resist an attack
    using Will, you immediately reroll and take the better of the 2
    results.

    Skill Diversity: Select 3 skills. You enjoy a +3 bonus in each
    Cskill. You can take this award multiple times, each time selecting a
    different set of 3 skills.

    Cross-Training: Select a class other than your own. You
    learn 1 basic ability for which you qualify from that class. You must
    meet all the ability’s prerequisites. Use the class’s prime attribute to
    resolve that ability. You may take this award more than once. Each
    time, select a basic ability from a different class.

    Infiltrator (Shadowcaster basic cross training): You move quietly and attentively through shadows.
    Apply a +5 bonus on Perception and Stealth checks

    Enemy probably magical beasts or animals depending on exposure.

    Alignment i gotta read on some more but neutral if like dnd.

    Equipment is time consuming. Will get on it soon. Wanted a light field cannon but it says they are 3000 lbs? Seems overweight to me... pretty sure two or three men can lift one and a horse can pull one.

    Backstory sketchy so far. Born in france. Son of farmers. Sailed to new world to make a living. Operated amoung huron indians trapping and tracking for the french army. Fell through a time rift. Traveled with louis and clarke. Fell through another time rift. scratch Curious as to why this keeps happening to him, but he's pretty sure its because he is special, farao which hs made him pompous, suspicious and detached from interpersonal relationships. pig
    Jp is not sane or motivated by ideals but could be persuaded to operate on behalf of those who are motivated by such things. scratch

    cannons are field artillery pieces - [Only admins are allowed to see this link]Not exactly something a single operator can use. usually needed a team of 4 horses to lug them around.


    Even a "lighter" support piece like the "Hotchkiss" would be considered a crew served weapon and would need a couple (or more) horses to pull it over rough terrain .[Only admins are allowed to see this link]

    Jp has a soft spot for genuine naievety (sp?) Despite how irritated he gets about it. He does not give loyalty or trust lightly, but when he does it is true. (And he is still a dick).

    Just a thought about a 360lb field cannon..... check out the race Goliath, pg 24, large sized.

And i may make one of those blue goblins, but he is a masked avenger; id like him to be able to fly. THE BLUE AVENGER strikes fear into the hearts of evildoers and exacts swift retribution upon his enemies! jocolor

    Canons and Gatling guns are considered military equipment. Not that they are unattainable, just difficult to come by. Use of military weapons is bound to attract attention...


    I like JP's concepts. His background works, but a few things...
    Most folks don't normally just "fall through" time (or planar) rifts.
    JP however, since he was a babe, has a distinct mark. It is a rune, like a constellation sigil, but it is known as a Temporal Tattoo. The tattoo alerts JP to the location of any recently activated time-tunnels. At 60', he can sense a time tunnel that has been opened within the last week. At 30', he can sense a time tunnel that has opened in the last month. Within 5' proximity, he can reopen the tunnel, (using a Wisdom check), which allows JP to pass through.

    In this world, time travel functions differently than planar travel.
    Planar Rifts are rips or punctures in the fabric of reality. They connect two distinct planes of existence.
    Time exists as in a coiled hose. Time flows like a stream from the bottom to the top and the universe passes through the coils as it moves along the waves of time. Traveling through time involves burrowing a tunnel through the coils of time, and then coming out at the intended temporal location.

    WHY does JP have the mark? That remains to be seen, but he has harbored it since before he can remember. WHERE is the mark? I would suggest on his scalp, so that it can be easily hidden by his hair, but you decide.

    Interesting.... I read Alan's backstory as explaining JP's insanity from his own point of view. I never interpreted it that he actually traveled through time Shocked

    But you gave a good explanation of the difference between time and planar travel, I guess we can expect some of both Suspect

    Perhaps jp would describe it as falling through because he does not know he is drawn to the portals or that he can open them... it more or less happens TO him. A wiser man would learn to control it, perhaps exploit such powers, but not jp. He just thinks he has a nose for finding weird and oversized creatures whose hides make good hats and coats. Maybe he is not sensing the creatures at all, but the ortals they come through... but he would say "bah! Jacque-pierre knows nussink ahbout deesseh, how do yeu say? Porrrrtahlss? Ah tink yeusa gahn kuku? No?"
