The group hugs the outer perimeter of the roads that circumnavigate the market. As they move slowly, they can see piles of debris scattered among the formerly organized trade market. Bolts of fabric lay strewn about on the ground, baskets of spoiling exotic produce remain overturned, and bags of grains lie unstacked.
One of the hippotentacle beasts is lumbering around. It grabs a wooden awning and slowly drags it over to one of the piles, pausing to assess where it should go. The behavior strikes Hawkes as odd. Its most likely the reason he kicks the empty glass bottle, distracted as he was. Hawkes freezes for a moment to watch and see if the party's presence has been revealed, but sees no sign to affirm the thought. He also notices an opened crate on the floor of one of the exposed stalls near the creature. Looks like more of those glass bottles. Potions, perhaps? Many of them are broken, but a few appear to be intact.
The GG crew press onward and soon find themselves past the market and on a typical dwarven street. Stone structures are the norm here. It is to be expected that many of these houses closer to the docks are squat and small and some of them still even have their thatched roofs. There is a bookstore on this bit of road as well, evidenced by the sign hanging out front. With a picture of books painted on it, of course.
The air is hazy and salty and devoid of any of the typical smells of a bustling Dwarven city.
