Re: Map section and set-up
Overall, great pictures! +90% of the map is clearly visible.
It looks like there is not 1 clear picture centered on Japan's home island. I can see it in the corner of a couple of the images, but not 1 shot that clearly shows their home.
Germany is the only place I would call a MESS on the board, but that isn't your fault in any way. that is just the nature of the setup.
What is the location of the 2 fleet cards? I can see the cards clearly, but I couldn't tell where they are supposed to be located on the map.
For right now, the grey\green\red chips are VERY easy to see and count.
Industrial complexes, air and naval bases are easy to spot too!
This looks workable to me. I might import your pictures to PP and then draw arrows for my attacks or something, but that's just because I don't have the board in front of me.
for example,
Attacks:
Jehol to Chahar w 2 inf + 1 art
Manchuria to Amur w 3inf +1 art + +1 mech inf + 4 fighters
Japan to Siberia w 2 inf on a transport

Re: Map section and set-up
I have a lot on my plate today until 5 but I can answer a couple of your questions right now. The fleet card with the two AC carriers is in Japanese home waters. The US one (with one of each ship) is in US home waters off the west coast.
I will get some new photos of the Japanese.... the Germans, that is just a mess for now. Once turn one goes, that is nearly always cleared up quite a bit. but I can get some new photos of that as well so that it can be more clear

Re: Map section and set-up
I know you are busy, don't worry. I am at work and have time to look at it, so I did.
No need for more Germany pictures, I agree it will clear out quickly.
Does the edited map read ok with the red arrows I added for an attack declaration?

Japan close up is uploaded at the end of the maps. Just tell me if you need anything else closer up

Re: Map section and set-up
I'm totally good with either one. The Axis have the harder time of it, but that doesn't mean they can't win....
I would suggest (though with little evidence) that the Allies are, in some ways, easier to play???? You get to see what the Axis are going to try, potentially, and then react accordingly until and IF they peter out and then you can womp them. But, that's assuming things don't go well for them.
I'm fine with taking the Axis for now if you'd like but I'll leave that to you since I did very little last year during the pandemic other than to mess with this and watch a ton of movies. lol

Re: Map section and set-up
one other thing to post here....
Starting IPCs
Germany - 30
Russia - 37
Japan - 26
USA - 52 - may only build three units per continental territory/sea zone (all US factories are minor until they are at war, then they automatically change to major ones)
China - 12
UK - Europe - 28 (UK powers go simultaneously, but spend money separately)
UK - India - 17
Italy - 10
ANZAC - 10
France - 17, unless their capitol falls
If a capitol is taken, the conquering power collects the unspent IPCs. You cannot collect income for a power if the capitol is occupied.

Re: Map section and set-up
I think that info is in the manuals but they also put it on the boxes with all the pieces... I just couldn't remember if it was in the manuals as well.
Any questions about anything?
Remember, Air bases and Naval bases grant one extra movement space for that power and it's allies (if they happen to be present).
Make sure you look at the Scramble rules... very important!

Re: Map section and set-up
Ok, I am looking over everything again.
I am having a couple small issues that I am sure will resolve themselves over time
looking at pages 31-34 in Europe rules:
British fighters and Tact bombers look nearly identical, I am having trouble telling what is what
I can't tell the difference between destroyers and cruisers, and transports to some extent. This makes it hard to know what is defending, in particular for GB

Re: Map section and set-up
also, you tend to put naval units directly over the number of the sea zone, which makes it hard for me read what sea zone it is
