Mannaseh Jermaine just stared at his grandfather stubbornly, arms balled into fists at his side. At 12, he was already a little old to be a padawan. But the visitors said he was 'strong in the force.' It was the best chance he would ever get to explore the galaxy.

Manasseh shrugged with just a hint of a smile.
"I betcha if dey IS Jedi Knights dey still ainta gonne letch y' have the shiny sWord," the old man grumbled as they walked together to meet the visitors. "Prolly make yo black-ass a cook or a janitor or suhmmin. Sheeuht boy, you gonne see."
