    Vossik lacerates the nearest Mephit into the next word, but it has a parting gift for the lizard man. As Vossik strikes the killing blow, the Mephit explodes into a cloud of icy shrapnel, dealing 4 slashing damage or  Dex save DC 10 for half.

    At Initiative 21 Qhu wakes up to the commotion and collects his wits. At 20...??? At 18 Warhol wakes up, then the Ice Mpehits go.

    The three from the north advance on the mounts, intent on making them a tasty meal. Marshekk and the horses each take 5 damage.

    The three from the south also advance on the mounts. The remaining two from the east are ticked at Vossik for roasting their friend and engage him.

    The Mephit at U-27 casts Fog Cloud, enshrouding the entire party in thick, dense fog that Heavily Obscures the area in a 20' diameter sphere. This casuses the Blindness condition for all who are inside the Cloud:

    Blinded
    A blinded creature can’t see and automatically fails any ability check that requires sight.
    Attack rolls against the creature have advantage, and the creature’s Attack rolls have disadvantage.


    The Mephit at U-26 attacks Vossik with its breath weapon, dealing 7 cold damage, again Dex save DC 10 for half.

    2 Dex saves from Vossik, then he's up again.

    I see wings in the mephits. Are they flying and if so, how high?

    How high is the top of the rocks/cliff east of Q?

    I see a cave on the map in the upper right corner. Did we see that in our exploration of the area?

    Qhu is used to coordination on the field from his life in the Hive Mind.  He broadcasts his thoughts to his allies, "I will protect the mounts, you handle the other group."  

    Qhu levels a baleful gaze from his lidless orange eyes at the 3 ice mephits attacking the mounts.  
    Action - use 5 sorc pts to cast Synaptic Static

    Casting Time: 1 action
    Range: 120 feet
    Components: V, S
    Duration: Instantaneous

    You choose a point within range and cause psychic energy to explode there. Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make an Intelligence saving throw. A creature with an Intelligence score of 2 or lower can’t be affected by this spell. A target takes 8d6 psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

    After a failed save, a target has muddled thoughts for 1 minute. During that time, it rolls a d6 and subtracts the number rolled from all its attack rolls and ability checks, as well as its Constitution saving throws to maintain concentration. The target can make an Intelligence saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

    Qhu will start heading up the snow ramp using 30ft of movement, I think he can get to J-24 unless there is difficult terrain or anything.  He can go around Warhol or through, its the same cost.  

    He will use his bonus action to refill his sorc pts by sacking a 4+1

    All three Mephits fail their saves and are obliterated by Qhu’s spell. Upon death they burst simultaneously into a big cloud of flying ice shards. Both horses fail their saves and take the full force of the damage, 12 HP, killing them instantly.

    Josh roll for your mount’s 3 DEX saves DC 10 for half damage.

    Warhol steps to n-21 monitoring the mephits and the possible new threat to the north. He summons a draconic spirit which appears at u-18.

    Components: V, S, M (an object with the image of a dragon engraved on it, worth at least 500 gp)
    Duration: Concentration, up to 1 hour

    You call forth a draconic spirit. It manifests in an unoccupied space that you can see within range. This corporeal form uses the Draconic Spirit stat block. When you cast this spell, choose a family of dragon: chromatic, gem, or metallic. The creature resembles a dragon of the chosen family, which determines certain traits in its stat block. The creature disappears when it drops to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.

    The creature is an ally to you and your companions. In combat, the creature shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours.     Warhol's dragon buddy wipes out the middle Mephit and injures the other two.

    They are up at 18 also. Both unleash their breath weapon at their immediate threat, dealing 5 points of damage each to the spirit. The spirit needs to make two DC 10 Dex saves for half damage.
    They both "pop smoke", using their innate ability to cast Fog Cloud, once again enshrouding the canyon and creating the Blindness condition for those inside it. The party and the dragon spirit all lose sight of the Mephits. Vossik is not Blinded, but has lost LOS to them due to the cloud.

    I really like single summon spells better than the wolf pack, at least as a GM its much easier to deal with them and plan for the possibility.  The animals\fey ones that summon multiple are the only ones that wreck action economy.



    On his turn, which I think is next, Qhu plans to keep hiking up to G-25 which should get him out of the fog.  He still has his Actions.   Does he see anything from up there?

    Warhol gains resistance cold

    Warhol will pick his way west towards N-16 and cast a spell if he can get line of sight. I don’t know how you want to handle the “blinded” condition when stumbling out of the fog. Technically difficult terrain can’t slow him.

    The dragon spirit flies directly through the middle of fog cloud using blindsight to look for the mephit. If he sees it, he will attack it. Otherwise he will go to U-23 and flank the yeti with full attacks.

    I realize that leaves both creatures actions unresolved but the fog kind of puts a wildcard into their decisions.
