The Grunk Firbolg clan, like many of their fey cousins, lived just at the edge of humans’ periphery for generations.  Humans were known to be impulsive, violent, and irrational creatures and it was thought best to avoid them all together. This philosophy was much easier to uphold before humans’ incessant, power-mad brains led them to discoveries of machination and technology. Even then, a policy of avoidance and isolation served the Fey of Earth Actual quite well. There were some
close calls, like that dust up over great-great grandfather Grunk Hairylongleggums getting caught on camera while out for a naked stroll in the woods one morning, but mostly they were left to themselves in the remote corners of the wilderness.

When the Topsyturvy Sparklecrackle broke Earth Actual and many of the humans were wiped out or transformed, the new order of things gave the Grunk more freedom of movement and opportunity to explore the new old world they’d avoided for so long. Curious and helpful by nature, a century of the Firbolgs’ travels and warm interactions are now met by a growing swell of oral tradition that their arrival might foretell some blessing  to those they encounter.

The Firbolgs love to consume old literature and content from before the Sparklecrackle, which their ancestors missed out on so much of, often incorporating their discoveries into personal identities and trading scavenged antiquities with their brethren they meet on their travels.

The world of Earth Pastactual is not without its dangers though, and before they’re allowed to venture away from their traditional wilderness clanhold, Grunk Striders are taught the ways of resilient defensive magic so they might defend themselves and others they may seek to protect.

Grunk Joebiden Yeticooler had been away from his home for several seasons, Striding through many of the valleys in the mountainous territory the Grunk calll Manypeaks. He’s been curious lately about what discoveries the town of Mana Springs might have in store. He arrived quietly a fortnight ago, keeping mostly to himself for now and observing the activities and comings and goings of the folks in and around town…
