    Marvin is affected by the Evil Eye:

    Evil Eye. The fomorian magically forces a creature it can see
    within 60 feet of it to make a DC 14 Charisma saving throw. The
    creature takes 27 (6d8) psychic damage on a failed save, or half
    as much damage on a successful one.
    Curse of the Evil Eye (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest).
    With a stare, the fomorian uses Evil Eye, but on a failed
    save, the creature is also cursed with magical deformities.
    While deformed, the creature has its speed halved and has
    disadvantage on ability checks, saving throws, and attacks
    based on Strength or Dexterity.
    The transformed creature can repeat the saving throw
    whenever it finishes a long rest, ending the effect on a success.

    Rolling line 1 : 6d8 + 0 to total : 7, 6, 6, 3, 4, 7, TOTAL: 33

    33 Psychic Damage and the other affect as well

    Marvin's legs become twisted and deformed, as if he had a dreadful disease long ago

    Hey GM, quick rules question.....

    What level of action does it take to drink a potion in your game?

    RAW - drinking a potion is a full Action

    however, it can be argued RAI, that the list of "free" actions on pg 190 of the PHB include

    drawing or sheathing a sword
    picking up a dropped axe
    donning a mask
    taking a potion from your pack
    drinking all the ale in a flagon

    drinking 12-16 oz of beer should take the same time as a small potion

    Matt Mercer\Critical role, Baldurs Gate 3 (only 5e PC D&D game), as well as the Carbone house rules, compromised on drinking a potion as a Bonus Action, due to the above considerations.

    hmm... now that is one damned good question and argument.

    as potions are rather small, and the GM has a slight issue with that being a full action...


    We will make consuming a potion a bonus action. Since you can only have one of those per turn anyway.

    So, house rule. Consuming a potion is a bonus action unless you have to get it from somewhere other than on your own person.

    Sound fair?

    Gor'Zax sees the Earl get hit and best marksman crippled in the opening volley.  He adjusts his tactical threat assessment and decides to prioritize the ugliest of the big uglies.

    Zax will move to L-6 pulling out the potion as a free action as part of his move, stopping outside his reach to drink it and then continuing forward.

    Bonus Action - drink potion of Stone Giant Str, setting his STR to 23 for 1 hour (+6)

    Zax feels the power of the Weave surge through his muscles, "AHHHHH  today IS a good day to die!"

    Action - Attack, 2 swings

    1st swing, 23 str, all in -5\+10

    1d20+5
    18+5 = 23

    A solid hit on the big ugly

    The dwarves get some solid hits on the hill giant closest to the Earl and all but one of them close ranks on him; one stays near Gor'zax to help with the Formorian.

    I will roll attacks for Brock, as he is the best dwarf fighter here. He gets a good hit in on the same giant that the wolves and Marvin attacked

    As Marvin reels from the catastrophic damage he looks down at his magically twisted legs “Dang! This is bunk!”

    He summons the strength to draw four arrows from his quiver and thunks them into the floorboards of the hall next to him at I-4.

    Cordon of Arrows:
    2nd-level transmutation

    Casting Time: 1 action
    Range: 5 feet
    Components: V, S, M (four or more arrows or bolts)
    Duration: 8 hours

    You plant four pieces of nonmagical ammunition – arrows or crossbow bolts – in the ground within range and lay magic upon them to protect an area. Until the spell ends, whenever a creature other than you comes within 30 feet of the ammunition for the first time on a turn or ends its turn there, one piece of ammunition flies up to strike it. The creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 piercing damage. The piece of ammunition is then destroyed. The spell ends when no ammunition remains.

    When you cast this spell, you can designate any creatures you choose, and the spell ignores them.

    Marvin excludes himself, his squad mates, the dwarves, direwolves, and the giants from the spell’s potential targets. “Fong this ugly bastard” he mutters under his breath.

    When the Fomorian starts his turn he will have to make four DEX saves DC 13 or take damage from each of the arrows.

    Marvin will duck under the table at I-6 and attempt to Hide as a bonus action.

    ok, the giants go from North to South....

    the first one swings twice at the dwarves and kills one dwarf. He missed on his next swing.

    The next one cannot see Marvin, so he chucks a rock at Brock

    As an action, Warhol summons an fey owl. The owl buzzes by the Fomorian above sac’s head, performing the help action for Zax to attack with advantage before hovering at h-3. Owl has flyby ability.

    As a bonus action, Warhol casts healing word on Marvin.  Because of the unicorn spirit, every injured ally within 30’ of G-4 heals an additional 7 hp (including Marvin).

    Result of the throw of dice "2d4 +5" :

    ok, Str. check vs. the wolf attacks

    Warhol - you can just make out a shadowy form about 150 yards outside the Hall. It appears to be just standing there

    The giant makes his first save but gets his leg taken out from under him by the second and he takes the damage.

    And because this is bugging me a bit; the dwarves will now go on 8 Initiative, since that's what I rolled for them - I made a mistake with this earlier and Brock is actually quite the warrior (the others are just 3rd level warriors/fighters)

    three dwarves that have been hit get 7 HP back from Warhol's spell in addition to the healing that Marvin gets.

    Now Brock goes... you hear him yell out a prayer to Thuenor. And then he strikes the prone giant with his great axe. (with advantage)

    the other dwarves almost act like sharks with blood in the water (you should have seen the rolls I got, two crits!)  That giant is now very dead.

    The Formorian looks even more evil and pissed as he gazes at the Earl.

    oh dear, the Earl shrieks and drops to the floor, his face puffing up to where you cannot see his eyes and his arms are shriveled.

    The Formorian then swings at Gor'Zax

    Ok, I needed to check a couple rules.   Help action from the owl gives ADV to my 1st attack roll, not the whole attack action.

    The giant is dead.

    Combat is over... the witch disappears after taking out what appears to be some sort of parchment.
