    The shutter is latched from the inside, and there
    does not appear to be a keyhole of any sort, but due
    to its roughly constructed nature, the shutter can
    be opened with a successful DC 16 Thievery check
    (trained)


    Zontreaux easily pops open the crude lock and opens the shutters.


    Herger makes it about 5ft inside the farmhouse before his path is blocked by debris.  Athletics check if you want to climb over the mess.  He can see what looks like another debris-filled room.



    Both the front door and the shuttered entrance lead to a room filled with debris
    from the collapsed roof.  The only part of the room that is curiously not covered in dirt and grime appears to be a small area (marked X) under the debris that is only accessible from the window side of the room.

    Herger easily scrambles over the debris from the collapsed roof.  Grim makes it through the window and into the room. The debris pile does not look like it was intentionally built as a barricade; it just looks like the roof gave way into a heap.

    There’s just enough room for
    two Medium creatures to stand in this space, and a
    cursory inspection from this spot uncovers a crawlway
    under the debris. Unlike everything else, this crawlway
    is mostly free from grime and dust. Characters can
    move through the crawlway only in single file. Medium
    creatures can crawl 5 feet per action; Small and smaller
    creatures can move at normal speed.

    a couple things to keep in mind...

    its single file
    you have to crawl (so no 2H weapons\shields, single handed weapons seems fine)
    5ft per move action
    its dark, unless you make a light source

    Grim crouches down to see back into the tunnel as far as dark vision and LOS allow. With a polite tone he projects into the tunnel. “We’re not here to judge how you choose to keep your house little fella. But that crossbow trap is illegal. The propped door gave us probable cause to enter the premises for a welfare check. If that trap had gone off, you might have landed in the jail. As it stands, we don’t see any reason to report that to the sheriff if you come on out and help us with a couple of questions.”

    After 15 feet, the crawlway takes a left
    turn. There is a trap located in the floor at this spot.
    Anyone putting pressure on the floor where the
    crawlway turns sets off the trap: debris rains down
    from the ceiling, trapping the victim and making the
    passageway impossible to navigate.


    Stealth DC 17 (trained)
    Description A pressure-sensitive floorboard connects to
    a beam holding up debris in the crawlway’s ceiling.
    Disable Thievery DC 15 (trained) on the floorboard before
    the debris falls



    Zontreaux wedges the pressure plate so that it cannot be depressed as he (and others) crawl over it cheers


    study I made a small error earlier when I awarded 30xp for the crossbow trap.  30 xp is actually for BOTH traps, I misread the entry in the module, sorry!

    Under the hatch is a stone-lined chute that descends
    almost 30 feet. Handholds have been carved into the
    stone wall, but they are uneven and treacherous.
    There is no light in the chute.


    study so darkvision doesn't help much since there is "no light" in the chute

    it looks pretty treacherous to climb down.... if you wan to attempt it without light, make an Acrobatics check

    With some light, the climb down is slow but safe. Herger can see what looks like a hallway at the bottom of the chute.

    if you notice on the map, there is only room for 1 person by the door and Grim is currently behind Zontreaux.

    The old wooden door swings open on rusted hinges,
    revealing a room lit by a single, flickering torch. Through
    the gloom you see piles of small crates and more than a
    few barrels stacked up haphazardly on the south side of
    the room. Opposite you is a stout wooden door with iron
    bands, while the north side of the room is bare save for
    an iron gate set into the middle of the wall. The stench of
    smoke and damp dog hangs heavy in the air.

    Zontreaux's keen eyes notice some oil has been spilled
    on the floor directly inside the door.
