    Hey Mike,
    I don't mean to be a micro manager, but I think you are missing a couple things that would help your damage output quite a bit. Would you mind some suggestions?
    It might change my action, so just checking before I go....

    Also, DM question - does his position at d9 now block his LoS?

    Assuming you are still mounted on chopper, you use your mounts movement not your own. While controlling your mount, chopper can only take dash, dodge, or disengage actions plus his move. So.... use chopper to move into position, that frees up your bonus action for hunters mark to add a d6 to each shot!

    I am awaiting DM ruling on your LoS from d9. If you can still see the big ugly, i can give you another attack via commanding strike, which would also qualify for a sneak attack, plus the hunter mark. (Assuming the extra 2d6 doesnt kill it).

    If no LoS then I will take 2 attacks myself

    Also DM question....  according to RAW 5e rules, mounting or dismounting does NOT provoke AoO as long as both mount and rider stay within the reach of the enemy.  I also acknowledge this is often amended in house rules due to the logic of what is happening.  How do you want to play it?

    Also, also.... flanking gives ADV (raw) or +2 (our old pirate house rules)?

    yes, Marvin's line of sight would be blocked if he moved there... I will allow a retcon as we are all a bit rusty.  Just this fight though. Very Happy

    ...and Chris, I'm not entirely sure I understand your question, you can dismount without provoking an AoO as I read it. As for flanking, there isn't any by the 5e rules. It just Rogues that can do that and use SA...if that's what you're asking about?

    Cool on the dismount rules.
    5e actually does have flanking rules, its in the DMG. It gives ADV in 5e but as 1st DM of pirates, I thought that was too strong (mostly for mobs using it vs PCs) so i went with the old 3.x rules of +2 instead. I was just asking which, if either I guess, we were using in your game.

    the first giant, that's looking pretty horrible from Gor'zax' attacks, tries to swing at his tormentor

    Technically, those attacks are at DIS since he swung while prone before standing up, but since he could stand first, then swing, Gor'Zax will enjoy 26 damage, lol

    However, Zax will use his reaction for a Riposte maneuver, after the 2nd missed attack and take another swing, no PA

    how are you getting there?  That space looks to be 50' from your position, the rocks in the way are rough terrain.

    However, M-16 looks to be within 40'. Is that ok?

    What Chris is trying to say is that the Giant’s last attack inadvertently triggered a reaction that allowed Chris to pre-kill the giant before the attack I declared to kill it. I was allowed to retcon my killing blow as a non-killing blow to the remaining giant, as I imagine you will be allowed to do also. So please refrain from re-killing the dead giant and instead not-kill the other giant.

    Ah, got it. I had a hell of a time following that chain of events. Thanks for dumbing it down for me. Reminds me of the old fast-effect war that occurred during the Magic years. Took forever to sort out the order of operations when 15 Instants hit the table.

    Anyhoo, with Giant #2 really really dead, Marvin will retcon his turn as follows:

    Bonus action to move Hunter's Mark to Giant #3. Chopper will Dash to K-14. Maintain original attack & damage rolls.

    Marvin will take a second shot at Giant #3, with the benefit of Hunter's Mark:

    Gor'Zax jams his elbow into the ribs broken by the giant's club.  He reminds himself, "Pain is weakness leaving the body"

    Arrod will circle around the thrice-dead joke and head to P-18. Action Dodge.  
    Zax noticed Marvin's tactical positioning and again calls for "COVER FIRE!"

    Commanding Strike - Zax gives Marvin 1 more attack with a +1d8 damage if it hits, plus Sneak Attack (since its a new turn, namely mine), colossus slayer (since he's wounded and a new turn) and his HM.  


    Zax will also take a swing with Shatterspike at the giant's club (might as well give this a try)

    Gor'zax rejuvenates himself but swings with his mighty war club and misses the giant's club.

    His attack distracts the giant as it howls in anger at him... allowing an opening for Marvin.  Marvin's attack is true and the giant takes a shot to the knee.  Now he's really pissed!

    The giant takes two mighty swings at Gor'zax...

    Trampling Charge.
