    From F-10, Abagail would not be able to see any of the enemies.  From an open position at M-7 or so, I would grant that you would be able to target the baddie at S-23 with a to hit penalty from partial cover, but I don't think you would be able to see the floater at J-30.  If anyone wants to math it out, let's assume the stairs run at a 40% slope and the top of the creature is 5' above the floor.  Trigonometry!

    Hawkes can barely see enough of the shrieker at S-23 to strike, so he centers the spell above it, knowing the radius of effect will do the trick. He creates a deafening clap of sound that does full damage to the creature.

    However, can I get a ruling as to whether or not Sam can still use this power to teleport behind this guy and then sneak attack him???

    Shadow Step

    When you are in dim light or darkness, you can use a bonus action to expend one spell slot to teleport up to 30 feet (per spell level) to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. You then have advantage on the first melee attack you make before the end of the turn.

    he still has a move and attack, so yes. Unless I read it wrong, in which case he would have just Shadow stepped right next to the guy. In fact, that's what I should have said in the first place, since it makes more sense. This would leave Sam with a move action, right? We're in a tunnel, right?

    Crispy breaks from cover towards the stairway, pausing briefly to lob a fiery mote towards one of the enemies. It misses the target, but Crispy pays no mind and continues his advance.

    The shrieker keeps moving towards the upper portion of the room with all it's movement. The floater takes it's full movement to gain line of sight on the one attacking it's superior. It fires off 3 rays from different eyestalks at Sam.

    Sam please make a WisSV for the orange beam, a DexSV for the green beam, and a ConSV for the blue beam.

    Incredibly, Sam suffers no effects from the rays.

    @Rob: Abagail would def have LoS on the shrieker at Q-27, although I don't think she would be able to see the floater at H-36 from her position.

    Thanks for bearing with me as I rebalanced my ichors. On to the stuff-

    Abagail leans out from behind the statue as she draws her breath in. At the midpoint of exhaling, she lets the bowstring snap an arrow towards the slowly moving mass. Even before the first arrow strikes, her second shot is away. Both rip into the creature, who screams out in agony. Excellent rolls! Would Abagail want to take her move or anything else?

    Hawkes's command of the situation emboldens him after Kruhl storms forward. Perhaps he does belong in the same league with other fabled heroes after all.

    And here you were complaining about not being able to do any damage....

    Fantastic turn!  Sam flashes behind his foe and chooses the exact spot where his strike should be crippling. As his rapier sinks into the mind flayer, it screeches out in agony before its breath fades and it slumps to the floor.  Sam decides to retreat from the upper level towards the rest of the group.  A move of 30' should carry him to J-27, not J-25.  Additionally, you have now used shadow step 3 times despite your statblock saying you have only used 2 level 1 spells, not to mention that I think you have taken damage despite your statblock saying you are at 84 minus nothing.  Please be sure to do your accounting correctly and amend your statblock.  Seriously dude, its embarrassing.  

    While we are at it, everybody please review the combat to be sure that your resources (spells, abilities, HP, etc) have been correctly marked off when you post a complete statblock on your next turn.  It shouldn't be hard.  You were all at full resources when you entered the temple.

    agree, with Joe here, as a former GM, especially since the fights are weeks long, keeping an accurate stat block (and posting it!) means that you don't have to remember drunken
