    Kruhl moves out into the open to engage the oozing blob of teeth, tentacles, and eyes. Kruhl feels a tinge of the divine as his warhammer strikes the creature. On impact, the weapon bursts into light and Kruhl is inspired enough to land a second blow on the screaming, formless shrieker.

    The mindflayer turns away from the body on the slab. His tentacles twitch and reach forth as he casts a spell towards the rock Sam is hidden behind.

    @Sam: Please roll a WisSV and a flat d10 separately.

    The remainder of the Mind Flayer's turn will happen after Josh's rolls.

    Very good. Sam begins to hear whispers in his head, but instead of falling victim to them he focuses on the moment and shakes off the effect. The Mind Flayer pivots and disappears down the stairs to the rear of the platform as the body on the slab beings to stir.

    Sorry it took so long to give this reply. If Sam being pressed up against a stone block offers cover, and Abagail pressed against a stone slab offers cover, then it is only right that the shrieker at T-12 enjoys cover from both stone slabs he is next to as well. You may continue with your attack rolls, given you move to X-11 to gain LOS before casting, but that would be 25' of movement due to the difficult terrain at X-8, X-9, and X-10.

    Either adjust your end point accordingly, or adjust your turn

    Assumed he would have LOS due to being at a higher elevation, but no problem. Crispy will end his turn under cover of the stone at Z-15.

    Crispy send 3 rays straight down on top of the shrieker between the 2 hunks of fallen stone as he continues his advance. His assault wounds the creature grievously, but not fatally. In a sense of desperation it moves towards Crispy and spits out a glob of mucous that explodes into a flash of light as it hits. Crispy, please roll a DexSV.

    The 3 shriekers on the north side of the room move in their respective directions as they continue to mumble, chatter, snap, and shriek. One moves towards the stairs, one moves towards Sam, and one moves towards Crispy.

    The enemy next to Kruhl rears back and also releases a frothy glob past his feet and it, too, turns into a bright flash of light on impact. Kruhl, please roll a DexSV.

    The floater near the raised podium moves towards the western staircase to gain sight on Sam as he presses against the large slab of stone. 2 rays, colored red and purple, hit Sam on his side. Sam, please make a ChaSV and a StrSV.

    Abagail can proceed and I will resolve the SVs as they are rolled.

    Kruhl raises his shield just in time, protecting himself as the light bursts forth from the ground adjacent to him. Crispy manages to duck out of the way as the glob sails past and lands on the wall behind him, causing a large chunk of stone to dislodge and fall to the ground.

    Still need Sam to make his SVs.

    Abi draws back her bow and releases another arrow into the blobby mass at L-6, causing it to scream in pain as it quivers and collapses dead onto the floor. Please choose another target for your second shot and let me know what else she would like to do with her turn.

    Abi draws and aims as she advances from cover to cover.  Just before she presses against the large stone slab she lets fly her second arrow, striking the shrieker atop the first flight of stairs.

    Crispy ducks as the glob of phlegmy fluid explodes into a burst of light behind him.

    The floater's attacks begins to blur Sam's vision and make him feel like something is compelling him to move, yet Sam finds a way to compose himself amid the onslaught of effects from the floater's beams.  

    Hawkes moves towards the closest enemy, striking with 2 swings.  As he plunges his rapier into the lump, it falls to his feet.  He may choose another target for his pistol shot.

    ok, I THINK this can work,

    Sam is going to use his maximum movement of 30' to get to O-30.  He will then use Shadow Step:

    Shadow Step

    "When you are in dim light or darkness, you can use a bonus action to expend one spell slot to teleport up to 30 feet (per spell level) to an unoccupied space you can see that is also in dim light or darkness. You then have advantage on the first melee attack you make before the end of the turn."

    He uses a first level spell which grants a 30' teleport, I believe this allows him to get adjacent to the Mind Flayer. Is that right? (this wasn't clear to me)

    From O-30 you would not be able to see the mind flayer, thus would not be able to teleport next to him.

    However, your path could be different while still ending up with the desired affect, so yes you can but not the way you described. Small detail but worth noting.

    Sam moves towards the darkened wall and disappears from sight before reappearing behind the mind flayer. He steps forward swiftly and stabs at the monstrosity with superb accuracy. Although none of the other party members can see it, the flayer recoils in pain and emits a piercing shriek.

    Kruhl draws upon some sort of power, even if he is unsure of his current patron, to strike the shrieker atop the first flight of stairs. As the spell begins to spark and crackle, the area takes on the smell of ozone. Both of his bolts strike, the second of which draws the creature 10 feet forward before dropping it onto the stairs.

    Great turns you two- Mindflayer up.

    The mind flayer turns to face its attacker, hissing as it measures him.  the cluster of tentacles shoot forth in a frenzy towards the rogue, wrapping his skull up and smothering his breath.  The searing pain comes from within Sam's own head causing 18 psychic damage.  For a moment, Sam thinks he may not be able to escape the snapping jaws at the nexus of the grasping appendages as he finds himself Grappled.  Again, unless there is any compelling argument, nobody else in the party can see behind the platform where Sam and the flayer are engaged.

    Sam: In addition to being Grappled, please make an IntSV.

    The dwarven form on the platform swings his legs over the side of the altar and sits up, eyes remaining closed.

    Sam steels himself against the fear that washes over him as his face is being pulled towards the flayer's snapping jaws. He will be able to attempt a grapple escape on his next turn.

    Crispy moves away from the wall and scrambles towards the center of the room. His first attack strikes, but the amorphous foe remains alive. He channels his arcane ability to toss a second attack, which explodes into cinders as it kills the shrieker.

    The shrieker continues to move slowly towards the area it last saw Sam. The floater atop the stairs at K-28 fires off 2 eye rays at Hawkes and 1 at Kruhl.

    The Violet ray strikes Hawkes, and he begins to feel...lighter? Hawkes, please make a StrSV.
    The Orange ray lands nearly simultaneously, but this one makes Hawkes question his resolve to battle such powerful foes. Hawkes, please make a WisSV.
    The Red ray finds Kruhl as its target, making his vision blur ever so slightly. Kruhl, please make a ChaSV.
