good question!
a normal swarm is a medium sized creature token made up of many tiny sized insects
this swarm token is a large sized creature token made up of many small sized bugs - so each giant cicada is about the size of cat or small dog, with a 10x10 swarm full of hundreds of 10-20 lbs hungry bugs
you might want something bigger than a frying pan....

Ivar gets his dander up and assumes a position for Barbarian baseball
Grunk channels his inner spider to catch some flies. If I mapped it correctly, it looks to hit 3 swarms. DC 13 Dex saves or be Restrained. Sadly, a swarm has Condition Immunity to Restrained (among others). But that doesn't really make sense to me, especially with a web spell. It makes more sense that only part of the swarm is Restrained, which reduces the swarm's combat effectiveness in much the same way that damage to the swarm reduces it effectiveness.
here are the 3 saves for the 3 swarms to be partially restrained

2: 5 + 1 = 6

Hey guys
We are in a pause mode, sorry. All my gaming maps, power point, images, etc are on my work laptop. Earlier today the State of Colorado public defenders got hit with some kind of cyber attack. And within a few hours offices were closed and we were told to turn off our laptops until further notice. There is no ETA for a fix but we are told it will go into next week.
Not only is all our our personal information, payroll, insurance etc in there, but also all our clients confidential information. So this is kind of a BIG FUCKING DEAL.
So.... enjoy the weekend, eat too much, and watch football. I took the boys skiing today.

quick update - by Friday of last week we had our email, fax and office phones (voip) restored. We can only access our email on work cell phones and we are still not allowed to turn on our laptops or log into any work-related govt. websites. And yes, all our storage is in the Cloud. We generate 3-4 TB of data daily.
Thankfully, payroll was unaffected and we will all get paid next week!
I spent much of last week driving back and forth to the various courthouses in the 4 counties we represent relaying paper.

Tess' magical piercing weapon has a limited effect on the swarm but he does manage to blast a few of the buggers, enough to reduce its size.
Marshall Sparks unloads his twin pistols into the swarm at z1 and eliminates enough of them to destroy the swarm. He fired 3 shots for those counting and there were some secondary explosions after 1 of the hits.
at 14, the swarm wave advances!
I loud buzzing sound, like way too much feedback at a rock concert fills the streets. The vibrations make your teeth chatter and window panes crack into pieces. Horses in the street cry out in terror and pull at their leads.
the first line of swarms hungrily attack the closest sources of food - the 2 boys near the web, Tess and Ivar. The swarm on Tess briefly passed by Siri but finding no organic material they continued on quickly.
The 2 boys are completely lost from sight by the swarm.

Indeed, very fortunate. Ivar finds himself covered in a sickly yellow paste from contact with the cicadas of unusual size. He wonders if it is something they are secreting or perhaps they vomit up some foul bile to help them digest their food?

Ivar swings his axe into the swarm. He finds it harder than usual to hit anything as the swarm isn't a single big creature. He does manage to connect with a few of the bugs, splattering the yellow ichor all over the streets.

I rolled a 1 and used a luck point. The hammer falls but jams on the debris kicked up in the air by the swarms. As luck would have it, some of that debris is also conductive. The capacitor arcs across the partially closed hammer just enough to fire anyways, diagonally into the swarm that is attacking the kids near Grunk’s web.

Excellent use and description of Luck!
Tessie's blast catches a fair number of the buggers in that swarm, reducing its size to half. Tessie sees the skeletal remains of 1 boy as the swarm shrinks. The other boy used the corpse of his friend as a literal meat shield. He scurries off, as commanded to T-4 and slams the door shut.

Marshall Sparks backs up to J-8 hissing at the woman, "Get insssside". He unloads into the swarm at M-8 finishing it off.
A loud buzzing now fills the street as the swarm continues its wave movement through town. Each swarm moves forward until it finds a source of food. Many of the nearest morsels have taken shelter, thanks to Tessie and Siri's efforts.
1 swarm lands on Tessie and Siri, but only chews on the kitty snack.

sorry I dropped the ball there for a couple days. I had a really busy Thursday and took Friday off. The boys and I went skiing then saw Dune 2. I highly recommend it and wish we had an Imax in Steamboat.

Ok, I am going to move this scene along a bit here. We are going out of town for a long weekend in celebration of some old fart turning 50.
The final wave of giant cicadas pass over town. Mana Springs looks significantly worse for the wear. Anything edible has been consumed - people, horses, dogs, plants, vegetables, gardens, cats, rats.... The buildings and inanimate objects are largely intact, though sometimes covered in a strange yellowish ichor. This is the same goo that Ivar and Tess encountered when in close combat with the bugs. Marshall Sparks is drenched in the stuff. He looks unsteady on his feet and can't even bother to duck into an alley before losing his breakfast on main street. Several other town folks that had close encounters also seem nauseous.
Calls go out for the Doctor, the Mayor and the Druids in no particular order.

Grunk will burn all of his first level slots to conjure up four Healing Elixirs:

Components: V, S, M (alchemist’s supplies)
Duration: 24 hours
You create a healing elixir in a simple vial that appears in your hand. The elixir retains its potency for the duration or until it’s consumed, at which point the vial vanishes.

Ivar puts his muscles to work helping out townsolk.
Tessie checks on the Marshall, but something seems off. His condition is not reflective of his wounds.
Knowledge Medicine check to learn more. Science if not, with DIS.
Siri reports back that she cannot locate the recently-freed ratkin. He seems to have slipped away in the chaos of the fight.
All "awakened" races are discriminated against, at least a bit, just based on demographics. But given that Marshall Sparks is also an awakened, its probably just the theft + explosive component that has his attention.
Grunk hands out his miracle elixirs. A bald man rubs a few drops on his scalp hoping for the best.
There are a few surviving giant cicadas caught in the webs.
Survival check to safely trap one. The job would certainly be easier with a second person too.
