    Tankard feels an overwhelming sense of foreboding about this storm. Thunor never sends storms like this that Tankard has heard of. When you are able to finally sleep (from exhaustion) your dreams are more like nightmares; you see visions of monstrous creatures in ships and in towns.. though they are non-descript locations. No ill effects from this.

    GM - so we slept, but had bad dreams. Does the restless sleep affect our recovery of HP or spell slots?

    I just ask because if Tankard took 10 damage yesterday from the storm, that would all be easily healed after 1 night of rest, or even a short rest of 1 hour and rolling a couple HD.

    while the new mantra helps at first, you are nearly paralyzed with fear at the sound of the hurricane. Crispy doesn't sleep the whole night... he is able to avoid serious injury from the ships rolling and shuddering from the storm.

    After the worst night that any of you have had in a long time, the storm ends.  As you emerge from the ship in the morning (painfully in some cases) you see that you beloved ship is a wreck. (best image I could find is below)

    the hold is still somewhat intact (your loot that was stashed is still secure) but there are holes in the superstructure below the water-line; the main mast is broken in half and the sails are shredded.

    You can still see part of the hurricane in the distance. In the light of day, you can make out what looks like a skull that seems to move with the storm (but you can just barely make it out from where you are). It is moving swiftly away from the island

    "It seems that Demon Storm drove us to the island and is content to leave us here. This thought brings me no peace, as it probably means that the storm wants us here and we won't be able to leave unless we deal with whatever on the island is controlling the storm."

    Tankard shakes off the momentary exposition compulsion and sets about the more important work of unloading his brewing supplies from the shipwreck. He quickly sets them up in the shade of the treeline and begins searching for exotic fruit to ferment.

    Sjon will take the shape of one of the local birds and set aflight. He climbs upwards to gain a good view while remaining safe from ground-based threats. As he surveys the land below, he keeps his keen eyes peeled for monuments, landmarks, differing climate/vegetation, and any sign of activity.

    Crispy will salvage what equipment he can from the galley and start setting up a kitchen near Tankard's brewing station. First step, as always, a good healthy firepit that might make any unseen predators think twice. He keeps one eye on Sjon as the druid takes flight, ready to join him in the sky should danger present itself.

    You have everything that was in the hold and you are able to establish a base camp.

    As Sjon flies on further... he sees another ship that appears to be relatively intact. He can only see it from a distance however. It looks to be about half a mile from his shipmates. It is located at the eastern tip of a cove.

    As Sjon continues his journey, he sees the wreckage of several ships and what look like the washed up bodies of several dead sailors. The ships are all destroyed or in pieces off the shoals to the west. You appear to have come in from the East. Your Captain manned the helm quite well.

    Let's have a closer look at the relatively intact ship.  Signs of any crew on-board,  or indication of where they've gone off to?

    Getting within a few hundred feet or so should be close enough.

    you see this ship lying mostly on it's port side but it looks like it sustained only slight damage.

    Tankard enjoys a fine breakfast.  His belly is much happier with Crispy returning to chef duty.

    As he licks his fingers clean, he uses the stubby digits for a quick head count.  He is concerned about the quantity of ale to bring.  "One can never have too much ale" he reminds himself.    He counts himself, Crispy, Hawkes, Sjon and Tankard going on the expedition.  He notices that he counted himself twice, subtracts 1, but then reconsiders the implications and adds his second self back into the reckoning.   On his other hand, he counts those remaining behind as Sam, Renda, Abi and.... uh..... that squirrely little fella that keeps disappearing all the time.  He needs to make sure that he leaves enough ale behind as well.  

    He talks himself through the math, "5 of us walking, so that's 2 cups per hour, divided by 16 oz per cup, plus 4 people staying at 4 cups per hour, times 8 hours for the hike is..... wait.... no, that's backwards, it should be 4 cups for the group I am in and only 2 cups for the others.... but if I carry the thumb...."

    Tankard gets lost in his head.  He stares at the 3 remaining fingers he is holding up, unsure of how he got to that figure.  He absently scratches his beer gut with the other hand.  "But I don't have 3 kegs.... oh, bother!"

    Sjon will make sure to distribute the Potions of Healing we have.  Two Potions of healing to Crispy and 1 Potion of Healing and 1 Potion of Super Healing to Hawkes.  Tankard and Sjon are both able to heal without them.

    Tankard entertains himself walking around in circles in the sand and watching his footprints disappear behind him. He finds himself a stick and writes phrases like "Sam has a tiny wanker", "Sjon can't hold his ale" and "Crispy's food tastes like boot leather" in the sand as he walks. As a "trace of passage" these disappear as well, but not without childish chuckles.

    Tankard is happy to be in the front as the thickest party member. More observant folks should be able to see over his head. Tankard has his shield out and battle drawn as they approach the wreckage. He leaves his stick doodling behind as a fond memory of transient art.
