    Hehehe, as he does, the reflection of a lever appears on the south wall. He turns his head to look, but it is not really there, only as a reflection in the mirror. It looks similar to the other iron levers set on a metal plate.

    Marvin backs up a bit, angling himself in the reflection.... he watches as his hand reaches the reflection of the lever and he feels the cold iron touch his fingers. He pulls the lever and the hexagon seal grinds against the stone door.

    Huzzah!

    You avoided 3 were boars by finding the 6th candle before saying the magic words!

    Marvin opens the door with the carved octagon. The ceiling of this plaster-walled room is 15ft high. A leather-backed tome rests upon a wooden lectern bolted to the floor. Set into the wall behind the lectern are 8 human skeletons, arranged so that they appear to be falling and screaming.

    The skeletons are set into the wall with plaster. They are just bones and some kind of macabre decoration.

    Marvin approaches the lectern.... but stops short. His passive perception alerts him to a seam in the floor. Marvin suspects there might be a pit trap. It is easily avoided, now that Marvin has spotted it. He proceeds around the perimeter to the lectern.


    The tome is open to the middle and looks to have only a few pages (8 at a guess). It is written in INFERNAL.

    Marvin also notices a latch on the side of the lectern as he inspects the tome.

    The seams on the floor were a false trap.  The real danger is the ceiling.  It appears to be smooth cut stone, but is actually thin plaster.  5 ft above the false plaster ceiling is the room's true ceiling which has a bladed fan shaped like a giant iron spider with 8 blade-legs mounted to it.  Since the lines of the Infernal nursery rhyme were not read correctly before pulling the lever, the iron spider begins to twirl at very high speeds.

    A reverse gravity spell activates within the room.  The lectern is the only object fixed in the room.  Marvin is next to the lectern but Vasyli and Warhol are not close enough to grab it.  Everyone "falls" upwards, like the plaster relief skeletons on the back wall.  Everyone "falls" into the whiling blades of death taking 8d10 slashing damage.  There is no save, except for Marvin who can make a Dex save to try and grab the lectern.

    Result of the throw of dice "8d10" :

    7 + 5 + 3 + 4 + 6 + 1 + 10 + 3 = 39

    Marvin grabs the lectern! He is dangling upwards and can feel the continued pull of the reverse gravity spell.

    Vasyli's Goliath heritage partially saves him from the turbine trap. He wonders if this is how the Hags prepared his clone's meat.....

    Let's see if Warhol has any tricks up his shell.



    The spell effect persists, so you will take the same damage every 6 seconds.

    Marvin will need a Str check to hang on each round. The Dex check to grab the lectern was 17.

    If you try to cast a spell, you will need a Concentration of DC 1/2 damage from that round.

    that seems both reasonable and impossible at the same time, sure! lol!

    A giant fan must have some clearance between itself and the ceiling, or it can’t turn freely. In that space there is still an updraft AWAY from the blades. Warhol will wild shape into a tiny dust mite and land safely on the ceiling and be stuck there in the dust that inevitably collects inside the eye of the vortex above the fan. Or is there an exhaust duct up through the ceiling?

    Most definitely!  Vasyli takes another 54 but then Indiana Joneses himself to safety.  

    After a minute, the reverse gravity spell ends and the spider fan slows to a stop.  The party can hear the octagon seal open in the stone door.  Finally!
