yeah, that's the only real reason he's not planning on using it. Adder just doesn't need that really. Just picked up the spell Storm Sphere, Adder has new toys to play with!

When Tynman touches the Mace of Terror
Red smoke seethes from the head of the mace, forming
the outline of a monkey with a long tail. With a roar, the
smoky apparition leaps at you, screaming, “Let me in!”

Green smoke billows from the staff, coiling around you
like a serpent. A sibilant voice whispers in your ear: “Let
me help you!
The green smoke snake hisses and snaps at the evil monkey driving it back into the mace. The snake whispers as it recoils into the staff, "He is not to be trusted, you are safer with me!"
Even in death, the Trickster Gods still harbor their ancient animosities. Tynman realizes that a person cannot be inhabited by 2 of them at the same time. The existing inhabitor will fight to maintain its inhabitation against the new invader.
