Was there already a plan? If so, Hawkes is always willing to listen to the crew, I am just responding to a fleeing wounded hostile able to warn whomever lies ahead while an imminent threat is temporarily impeded behind us.

my bad, asleep at the wheel again. I thought we were still planning to fight whatever came through the SE opening. I totally forgot that Hawkes already collapsed the tunnel. Going through this passageway seems like the ONLY option we have at the moment

As the group peers into the opening, it is dark beyond. A 10' wide hallway stretches 15' forward before opening into a room. There seems to be a dim source of light within it somewhere to the right.

Edit: if you gents are going to pause a few before anyone moves in, we can drop out of initiative for ease of positioning and walking order.

Sam would still like to scout ahead of everyone, unless that's going to cause issues

Sam parts from the group, slipping down the hallway as slowly and quietly as possible.  His steps make nary a noise as he gets to the end of the hallway and looks around inside the room.  His eyes are immediately drawn to the large statuary in the middle.  4 stone dwarves dressed in a mélange of robes and armor.  As Sam looks to the left in, he can see the hand-worked columns betrayed as dwarven-made by virtue of their craftsmanship.  The walls of the room are lined with alcoves.  Some of which contain the corpses of slain citizens, others are used to house the severely injured or otherwise traumatized.  

When Sams gaze pans across to the right, he can see the last remaining floater making its way towards one of the two dimly-lit braziers that flank a sarcophagus.  It is, unsurprisingly, the perfect size for a dwarf.  He can see scrawling on the wall behind the stone tomb, but he certainly could not read it from this distance.

For sure.

Abi keeps her bow drawn. She'll take the rear guard. She has 60' darkvision and can cover the rest of the party as they progress inside.

Assuming Sam’s description is accurate, Hawkes indicates we should rush in quietly prepared to attack at range.

Hawkes is quite stealthy. Who else can be quiet?

The louder ones should move last.

Renda is very stealthy and fast...when not carrying a dwarf.

Give the dwarf to someone who is not stealthy. You got the dwarf because you were in delay.

No, not why am "I" carrying the dwarf vs someone else, why are WE carrying the dwarf? Who is he /what do we need him for?

Finding him was a mission objective but he’s been transformed into a goon by a mind flayer. Hasn’t attacked us though.

Kruhl will carry the dwarf, no problem. He isn't very stealthy anyways, so a little extra weight can slow him down without consequence.

sorry bro, most of Sam's spells aren't really that useful for a party. The arcane trickster is pretty cool but the spells are pretty limited IMHO

I was using Sam's previous roll, but that one is super good too. Seems like everyone is all lined up and has done so without making any significant commotion. Initiative is really for when combat starts, and it doesn't seem like there is any currently. What do you guys want to do?

GM, how long did it take us to walk down the hallway?  Kruhl's Shield of Faith has a 10 minute duration and only 2 rds used at the end of the fight.

The hallway was all of 15', so I considered the healing and stacking to have occurred in one round.

@Rob:  I'm not sure about the bless duration. The pause in action lasted 1 round for the purposes of timekeeping.  If it is still active, feel free to roll the extra d4 for your attack rolls, but they were good enough to both hit the floater as-is.

As Sam moves further to the east side of the room, the 2 arrows stick into the back of the floater.  It spurts a syrupy red stream of blood as it falls to the floor.  The room falls quiet and the writing on the wall behind the sarcophagus glints with light when the angle of the smoldering brazier is just right.  The script is small and intricate.

The large stone coffin features a carved relief of a very well decorated dwarf draped in robes and armor.  On either side in front of the coffin are 2 near-smoldering braziers, and likewise to the braziers are 2 more freestanding statues that feature heavily-armed dwarf warriors.  The air in this room is stagnant and fetid with injury and death.  None of the captives that are stashed away in the various alcoves are responsive to Sam's presence.

Renda unloads the unconscious dwarf to Kruhl at the back of the group.

GM note: now I feel silly about initiative since Rob just smoked that fool.  We can just stay in it for now as exploration continues.  I asked Mike if he was ready to jump back in yet, but haven't heard back yet.
