    Quain's frost beam strikes the seriously injured kobold. It drops with a shudder.

    Moon vaults the wall and joins the fight! He runs past the kobold at K-14, thumping across the head. He can hear a crack as his spine breaks. He continues his sprint to M-14. He uses the momentum of his run to plant a spinning heel into the base of Hoodies' skull, nearly dropping him too.


    @ Jason - since you don't always know the result, you can post something conditional, like "if my first attack kills the guy at K-14, I move to M-14 and take my 2nd swing at him"

    Ray of Frost doesn't do much about the fire. It is "A frigid beam of blue-white light streaks toward a creature within range." and probably cannot target an object anyways.

    Moon only notices a pitch fork for moving the hay, but no other scoopers.

    Titus doesn't see a bucket.

    The fire is pretty small and "pathetic" producing more smoke than heat, per the description. Moon is confident it could be stomped out, if other ways aren't attempted.

    DC 10 Dex save to avoid d4 fire damage, if anyone wants to give it the boot

    @Josh and @Jason
    Remember, in 5e there is no such thing as "having a skill".  Everyone can roll any skill check they want.  You may or may not get to add your proficiency bonus.  Survival is a Wisdom-based skill.

    Investigation is to determine a logical connection or figure out how something works.  Perception would reveal the presence of tracks, sure, but you can't do anything with that information other than see there are footprints in the dirt.

    So, roll whatever you would like (or not) with that information Cool

    if it was Ice Knife or something that actually contained water or ice, I could see it.  Ray of Frost is a laser.  

    Quain starts looting the bodies...

    The kodolds each carry a knife, a sling and d6 stones.
    The hoodies carry a scimitar and their robes.
    1 of them has a small wooden box containing a set of silverware worth 20gp.  It doesn't take an investigation check to guess that it was looted from Greenest.

    The back doors of the temple are locked, but the villagers open them when they see it is not kobolds and hoodies. A small group emerges that look scared and tired. A priestess of Chauntea leads 7 others outside. They all talk at once:

    By the Gods, we are they attacking our village?

    They appear to be both exhausted and panicked. The party can hear the thumping of a homemade ram on the front door.

    Inside, Quain will try to create a situation where she has cover and a clear LOS on the door, up to 50 ft back, if room allows. Ideally, shed be able to engage targets entering behind us in the direction we entered as well.

    the party has enough time to set up in position wherever you want inside the main hall of Chantea's Temple.

    Terrain features:

    wooden benches offer 1/2 cover
    exterior walls of the temple are stone
    interior walls are wooden
    entry way is 5ft lower than main hall, dias area is another +5ft
    party entered through open door at Q-4 where there is some lingering light smoke
    the party does not have time to explore the side rooms, but suspect they are offices or sleeping quarters
    visible doors are YELLOW

    @Jason - I love the enthusiam!  however, combat hasn't started yet, so hold yer horses, cowboy.

    Remember, the party gets a surprise round, so none of the baddies will move until after you do for the first time.  You can select to "Ready" an action, please be sure to read about it as it has a trigger and an action.

    Josh did say “crossbow at the ready at the door.” It isn’t 100% clear, but I would guess it was his implied intention to fire through the door when it breaks?

    uh, why is it so freakin' necessary? We get surprise, they're not through the door yet. When they get through the door, Titus will shoot at his first target when it's his turn in the surprise round.
