    Lumenor Smith
    HP: 24
    AC: 16
    Move: 30

    RER (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/animals/raven)
    HP: 12
    AC: 16 (+2 familiar bonus)
    Move: 10/ 40 fly

Red Eyed Raven launches forward, flying deftly around and over his companions to make a screeching dive at the "lower" armored suit, then fly back towards the door.

This delivers the "touch of flame" attack stored in RER moments ago -

Result of the throw of dice "1d20 +4" :

    20 + 4 = 24

    YEAH RAVEN!

Result of the throw of dice "1d6 +1" :

    3 + 1 = 4

Can you crit on a SU touch attack?

Lumenor raises high his lantern, points a finger at Ian, and shouts, "The Fires of TRUTH burn in YOU!!!"

For a brief, fleeting instant, Ian sees a vision of his most noble, pure, and steadfast self - wreathed in flames, standing tall against the darkness and evil of the world and confident in victory. He feels a fiery power overtake him as the vision echoes away...

Fury (Su): A shaman incites a creature within 30 feet into a primal fury. The target receives a +2 morale bonus on attack rolls and a +2 resistance bonus on saving throws against fear for a number of rounds equal to the shaman's Wisdom modifier.

You CAN crit a touch attack.

Does Red Eyed Raven have "flyby attack?" If not, then he can't return to Lumenor until next turn.

    Roll for crit.

I have rolled for Matt. It is a crit. Red-Eyed Raven just lightly touches the armor with the tip of a wing. Flame erupts from within the armor in a torrent of purple sparks. The head blows off the top of the armor, revealing a withered creature inside whose eyes just barely peek over the rim of the breastplate where a periscope once was. He howls in pain, but continues to fight.

Oh thats right - PF doesnt let you split your total movement rate and attack as needed, sorry about that. I just figured you'd be taking your AoO as I departed your threat-space.

Yes it does... Spring Attack, Ride By/Fly By Attack or using a hero point or some other power allows you to do that.. not so much with spells due their inherent power.

Actually, it's entirely possible within the confines of the game. He just isn't powerful enough yet. And I see no reason why you could not use a Touch Attack spell with Spring Attack or fly by, etc....

I think it is just one of those rules that "have always been that way".  Honestly.... it IS silly that you have to spend 3 feats in order to: move, attack, move.

Personally, I think that should go the way of Quick Draw, opening doors, the dodo bird and Mitt Romney.

It would be a really nice adjustment for ranged characters in particular.  They could find good cover, step out, shoot and get back into cover in a very real and tactical way.

I think the problem would come from melee who would always be provoking AoO.  Anyone with some Tumble\Acro can already do it most of the time.  But then we get into the paucity of skill points in RPGs.

Maybe the feat chain to get to Spring Attack would allow the non-tumblers to move without provoking an AoO?

Or even just make it 1 feat and a "combat maneuver" such that anyone (armored or not) could make a CMB check vs the enemy's CMD (like tumble) to avoid an AoO.

    Theodras 17
    Goblins 16
    Chef 15
    Ian 14
    Tarek 13
    Lumenor 9

Top of the round. Theodras is up.

I think it is important to remember that a round is 6 seconds. The movement rules would be easy to abuse if everyone could move, attack, and move again. I imagine a merry-go-round of death where 20 men could all attack the same guy each round even though there is only 1 square clear through which to reach him.

It is easy to get too particular about squeezing the most tactical advantage out of your turn. The round is a simulation of simultanious actions in 6 seconds. The constraint (or tax) on how much can be accomplished in that time and proximity is the only way to account for realistic limmitations since we can't all go at once. The feats account for the rare extraordinary character who can move fluidly through a crowded battlefield.

I really like the PFU version of action economy! That makes a lot of sense; it eliminates some of the problems of being locked into 1 standard + 1 move, without making everyone OP. It actually helps spellcasters too, which is rare.

I will read this and consider implementing it later when I can be sure we all understand it.

For now let's drop it and continue our adventure in the old school.

Theodras, sword in hand, tries to look for an opening between Ian and Tarek to strike at their enemies.
He paces back and forth for a few seconds...

I'm holding my action for now. If either Ian or Tarek fall, I will take their place, standing over their bodies to protect them while making an attack on the nearest creature.

The wounded creature doesn't quite rebound and swings wild at Tarek, missing.

Ian is not so lucky this time; he takes 8 damage from a thrust that finds its way between breastplate and pauldron.

GM - can you post the initiative order after each GM update?  Like your requested player stat blocks, it saves us having to go back through pages to figure out who is up next.

    Thanks!  Cool

    Chef
    HP 33
    AC 18 (touch 13, FF 15)

Chef will Hustle, moving up past Theodras, and then thru Ian's space, whereas he attempts to Overrun the armored goblin in J-12. Chef is not Charging, so he should be able to move thru Ian's (an ally's) space.
    Overrun/CMB check: 19 + 5 = 24.

If he is successful, Chef will stop in J-11, flanking the goblin.

If Chef beat the goblin's CMD by 5 or more, the goblin is knocked prone.

The goblin gets an Opportunity Attack. Actually they probably both do.

The spry fat-man bowls over the shocked armired hulk. Its posture is visibly unballanced in surprize, causing its defensive slash to glance off of Chef's blade before it falls prone in a clatter. The second armored assailant, impaired by damaged equipment, barely shaves the hairs from the cullinary's chin.

Ian smiles at the Chef's unexpected courage.  "Perhaps cookie played rugby in his youth?"

Ian touches the symbol of Paelor on his sword to his forehead and puts his other hand on his chest, "I have the heart and will to serve".  (gesture to invoke Lay on Hands, a free action on himself).  Ian then slams the pommel into his empty hand, "Let's fight!"

Flanking attack on the one to Tarek's left.

    Roll(1d20)+2:
    19,+2
    Total:21

    Critical threat:

    Roll(1d20)+2:
    15,+2
    Total:17

I have no idea if that confirms

    Damage if normal:

    Roll(2d6)+0:
    4,1,+0
    Total:5

    Roll(1d8)+2:
    2,+2
    Total:4
    Total of 9

    Damage if critical:

    Roll(2d8)+2:
    5,6,+2
Total:13 (sneak attack would stay the same). 9 if not a critical, 18 if it was.

Tarek's blade exploits a fold in the armor that was unhinged by the explosion.  His precise jab pries the elbow off like a can-opener revealing a tiny withered arm, pale green; almost white.  There is no blood, just an odd slime.  The creature appears to slip out of consciousness.

Theodras' attack gains a +2 flanking bonus and a +2 for attacking a prone target, so 15.  His sword comes down hard, but only finds breastplate for no damage.

Chris - Dont forget your +2 moral bonus to attack from "Fury" that Lumenor granted you.

Red eyed Raven hovers in place, taking no attack but not leaving the square it occupies either. It keeps its eyes alert for unknown dangers, watching the stairwell in case reinforcements should come down unannounced.

Lumneor moves up into the space behind Tarek, reaches over his shoulder, grabs a torch from his pack and lights it on his lamp.

    Thats all.

Theodras' attack gains a +2 flanking bonus and a +2 for attacking a prone target, so 15.  His sword comes down hard, but only finds breastplate for no damage.

My bad. Ian's not elegant at all chop crushes the arnor, from which spews an odd greenish goo. It is dead.

Combat is ended. Perception checks all around.

Ian raises an eyebrow skeptically as he examines the smashed suits of armor, thinking of the sounds of battle only seconds ago. Then he remembers that young people are often more eager than he is, or ever was for that matter.

"That sounds like a great plan, Ranger. I'll be right here if you need me." Ian will find a place to rest his rump.

"Wait yet one moment, as the fire's light reveals more truth..."

Im not recalling if the tower's upper level had windows, but if it does, we'll send ReR out to fly up and look inside, he can even use movement to fly in and the out again if needed. He'll then report back what he has seen. He does speak common after all...

If it doesn't, Lumenor and ReR will simply standby and prepare to follow the martial types up the stairs.

There's a small window. I already asked. Not sure if it's second floor, however.

Chris wrote:The ceiling seems too high to fit into the exterior of the structure.  Bookshelves extend all the way up, covering every wall, save a small southern window.

Red Eyed Raven flies up the tower exterior and seems to go up and up and up and get no-where. The one window looks into the rafters in the entryway.

Plan as presented was Theodras and Tarek sneaking ahead while the rest prepare to rush up when called upon.

Ok, so I need stealth checks for Tarek and Theodras. Also a marching order and a map update showing who is where from the current room on up the stairs ending at the closed door. Then y'all can decide who opens the door. Basketball

just a reminder, I am traveling on Thur and will be at my folks house in Rockford for a week.  I should be able to continue to help with map updates, but just email me the new room and tokens

Ok. Tarek is at the door.

    Theodras 17
    Chef 15
    Ian 14
    Tarek 13
    Lumenor 9

Does everyone want to delay, so init looks like the following:

    Tarek 13
    Theodras 13.1
    Chef 13.2
    Ian 13.3
    Lumenor 9

There will be a new roll if combat ensues anyway.

    Tarek is up.
